Week 10! Fernando's away this week, or he's about to fly into town at any moment, so again we have Christopher Walters joining Double Doinks and Sackles.
On this week's episode, we talk Week 9! Are the Packers done? Are the Rams done? We talk about the fascinating story of the new interim coach of the Indianapolis Colts and Jeff Saturday, an NFL commentator that has zero head coaching experience. We talk about the very good New York football teams and pass interfering referees in Washington DC.
We feature a commercial for Duck Foot, I mean Dirty Birds in the College Area of San Diego State.
And we wrap everything up talking about the games of week 10. A possible revenge game for Case Keenum and Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills vs Justin Jefferson and Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings. Hide your Fernando! Also will there be another Doumble (double fumble) involving the Chargers?
Thanks for listening to Double Doinks and Sackles, teaching you how to football. We appreciate all of our two listeners.
Double Doinks and Sackles, trade deadline episode. Chris Walters couldn't stay away and is back with us this week.
Probably the most craziest and active NFL trade deadline that we've experience in quite a while. We talk about those crazy trades (Calvin Ridley to the Jags, Bradley Chubb and Jeff Wilson to the Dolphins, TJ Hockenson to the Vikings, Roquan Smith to the Ravens, and others). We recap Week 8 in the NFL with some pretty wild games and amazing feats and stats. We also talk about those trades that didn't happen and shake our heads in bewilderment.
Our commercial this week is for Dirks Nite Club in Lemon Grove, CA.
And finally we cover a little bit of NFL news with the Washington Football Team Heinicke Commies and make our Week 9 picks. Thanks for listening to our podcast where the personalities are big and the banter is just right.
We're back! Less hungover from our trip to New Orleans and ready to teach you how to football. And we get a special guest of Chris Walters of the Walters garage. We're just trying to continue our party vibe of last week.
On this week's show, we recap what happened in Week 7 of the NFL 2022 season and then talk about some of the big trades that happened in the past week (for example Christian McCaffrey, James Robinson, Robbie Anderson, and Robert Quinn to name a bunch). We also talk about some curious quarterback decisions that were made by some coaches with a couple choices on hand. You can say they have to keep pounding.
We have a commercial for Wong's Golden Palace in La Mesa, California.
And finally we make our picks for Week 8 of the NFL and give you some fantasy football advice for the next week.
Thanks again for listening to Double Doinks and Sackles on the Social Dragonfly Podcast network. Look for it by name on Spotify.
LIVE (on tape) from New Orleans, it's Double Doinks and Sackles, teaching you how to football.
This is a fun episode. Don't know how hilarious it might be to you, but it was to us. This episode is being released on October 19, 2022, the date of Fernando "the Gritty" Jackson's 40th freaking birthday and we're here in New Orleans celebrating his drunk stumbling ass through the streets of the Marigny. We took about a half hour, somewhat coherent to record something.
Jimmy G the Stat boy is here as well, Travis (due to logistical issues) could not make the trip, but we have Eric B. Goods also on this episode providing his spice of insight on the games of Week 6. We didn't watch many of the other games except a handful of ones we were at in Miami or in Atlanta, or saw at a shack next to the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. But we make do. Oh we also saw the Chargers/Broncos Monday game in the ASS bar in New Orleans. What's an ASS bar? Um, you needed to be here to know.
We have a commercial for the Royal Street Inn and R bar in New Orleans.
And we make our Week 7 picks before Fernando has to start drinking again.
Special shout out to someone's mom on the podcast. It might be yours so you gotta tune in to find out.
This week Jimmy G the Statboy co-hosts for Fernando. But don't you worry, Travis is still here. Fernando will be back next week, on location in New Orleans!
This week however, we talk about everything that happened in Week 5. We talk about the new NFL concussion protocol, the roughing the passer penalties that have been getting out of hand, smug kickers who let the ball kick itself, and any other news and notes around the league.
We do a commercial this week, for Everytable.
And we finish it out, talking about teams that could turn it around at this point of the season, go over our Week 6 picks (Fernando did submit them to us), and Travis goes over some fantasy football picks for Week 6.
Thanks for getting us to an all new high in listenership this week! Come for what you expect from Double Doinks and Sackles, teaching you how to football. Stay for Jimmy G the Statboy working on the other side of the podcast table.
OMG OMG OMG! A real Double Doink happened!!! Call TMZ! Call Sportscenter! Call the physicists at Cal Tech!!!
Whew, well after we get over talking about Double Doinks, we'll teach you about Week 4 of the NFL and what happened, other interesting NFL news this week (Tua's injury, the Eagles are still undefeated, the Chiefs don't miss Tyreek Hill, among other stories). We also talk about our fantasy football Studs, Duds, and Sleepers. And finish it off with some Week 5 NFL picks. It's been a very full week.
And we also talk about a local burger joint if you want to run away from Travis' cooking. We're Double Doinks and Sackles! Let us teach you how to football.
This week in Double Doinks and Sackles, we talk about Week 3 of NFL football. Fernando saw a game in Minneapolis and has first hand information about the Vikings/Lions game. We also recap the rest of the Week 3 games, talk about how the group of death (aka the AFC West) is actually really lame this week. And we talk about the Brett Favre welfare stealing scandal and how it hasn't caught a lot of attention in the media. Also Travis might mention things about his favorite football team. Take a shot every time he mentions them!
Speaking of drinking, we have a spot for the La Mesa Oktoberfest.
And finally we talk about the results of our fantasy studs and duds from last week and review the Week 4 games and our picks which feature the first game in England. Because they didn't learn well the first time, Fernando and Travis give you their Week 4 fantasy studs and duds and sleepers because you deserve them. Thanks again for listening to Double Doinks and Sackles. Please share with your friends and frenemies.
When we're not mansplaining football, we mansplain a great place for sandwiches. You'll have to go to Minnesota though....
Just when we think Week 1 of the 2022 NFL Season was crazy, Week 2 comes in and slaps you in the face a few times before you even know what happened. Am I right Kyler Murray? This week Fernando and Travis talk about the crazy things that happened in Week 2 (Joe Flacco and the Jets are good? Carson Wentz is 2nd highest what? Geno Smith has what completion percentage?)
We then take a quick flight to enjoy a good sandwich in our commercial spot.
And then we finish up the episode with our Week 3 picks and discuss some fantasy football sleepers, studs, and duds.
Be sure to listen before Week 3 so you are prepared and mansplained! Find Double Doinks and Sackles on the Social Dragonfly Podcast network.
Wow! How about that Week 1 of the NFL 2022 season? What better way to digest what you just saw by listening to Fernando and Travis on Double Doinks and Sackles, mansplaining football so you don't have to. We'll scientifically break down what happened. Who underperformed. Who overperformed. We discuss our Week 1 picks, preview Thursday Night Football between the Chargers and the Chiefs, make Week 2 picks, and then finish the episode with some sleeper picks for your fantasy football teams.
We feature a local pizza place in our fake advertisement.
And Travis roasts... (or is it toast) someone repeatedly.
Thank you for listening and please let us know what you think about our little podcast.
