Happy Mother's Day! Yes, Stephanie is my mom and I visited her this Mother's Day 2022 and recorded a special interview with her. If you remember one of my older podcasts from 2021, I talked about her life turning 70. Now I'll let her speak and hear a little about her life before and after retirement, her grandkids, and the future. Hope you enjoy it.
This episode is an experiment to capture my life as it happens from March 1 to 7, 2022. I monologue briefly while going to work. Talk briefly about my day at work. Talk briefly about Ukraine. Go to bar trivia to test my random useless knowledge of random facts, and try to teach people about moral dilemmas so people don't turn on them. I go to a lacrosse match, game, or outing. And finally I talk for about 38 mins about my own mental health and whether or not anything has changed since last year. This is a long and special episode into the place known as my mind. I get a little vulnerable and hope it's interesting for you.
Car buying is quite a chore now. Global supply chain issues, shortages of inventory, and just the crazy state of the world has made buying a car even more stressful than it already is. Now imagine if you got into a car accident because the other driver was careless and now you have to get a new car. What now?
Well this happened to my friend Dalia.
Today's episode is a good discussion of the car industry (from an expert in Joey Brommer) and two former coworkers / friends on a Saturday morning talking car buying. I talk about how it used to be and we speculate on how it is now and tips and tools to get a car today in 2022.
This is Car Talk with Dalia Gonzalez on Social Dragonfly Podcast.
Today's episode is with the one and only Joey Brommer. He's someone I have met and became friends with for only a short time. I think it was about 2 years ago. Joey is a funny, witty, loud, maybe slightly obnoxious, and wonderful friend to many people. He is also a wonderful and caring father to his daughter who he is moving to be closer to in Tennessee. And yes, that sucks for us, who just got to know him.
So with today's interview episode, I spent a Sunday morning, 1 week before the Super Bowl, to play miniature golf with him at the Loma Club at Liberty Station. It doesn't make for the most interesting podcast, listening to put put golf being played, but the conversation was great. I learned so much about him and appreciated hearing stories about himself and his family that I did not expect to know. Truly generous and I am going to miss him a lot. Please visit us Joey and hopefully we'll all visit you when you get settled.
Have you ever thought about how you first met your friends? You judge it by places you've been to, calculate the year, remember the people who were there, and then realize you had it all mixed up and have to start over or ask other people if they remember the outing. Time is a flat circle and what's important is living in the now and being in the moment. Spencer is a person I met in one of those outings and I never expected to still be friends because it's hard to keep up friendships when life gets in the way. But we bonded on so many things like food, baking, summer parties, birthday parties, podcasting, and having good mental health. Come listen to our conversation where we reminisce and also look to the future because it's been a journey.
An update on when there will be new episodes of Social Dragonfly and my IT problems.

Read those names. Remember those names. They have been hardly mentioned in the news. They were real people that should be recognized and respected.
Today's episode will be the last for a little bit. Moving forward, I want to release episodes that take a bit of thought and a lot of research to create something that is more substantive rather than rushed to be published. Case in point, today's episode is rushed. Not all of the information is out about these victims of this heinous crime but I try to talk about these people and share what I have found out about them. I also talk about the media and how this is still not labelled as a hate crime.
It's a bit heavy of an episode for my finale but I hope you listen and if you don't, at least repeat those victim names so you remember them. I'll be back soon with more episodes soon. Thanks for listening. #stopasianhate
So yeah it happened.... almost 8 years ago.
I met someone on match, we went on a couple of dinners, had lots of long phone calls talking about life and what's important.
But I felt no connection, no spark. NOTHING.
I basically felt like I was playing up the good listener trait I have too well and all she wanted to do was talk and me listen about her problems and troubles. Not an ideal situation. And then there was the other stuff that made me think, this wasn't worth my effort.
On this week's podcast, I talk about that one time, I was a garbage person and I ghosted a woman I met because well... it wasn't working out for me.
Ghosting. It's not just for Americans that marry into British royalty.
Our 10th episode! Hooray!
So let's talk about Podcasts. I love them. There are so many of them. But has anyone shared their favorite podcasts in a podcast? Well I am going to break some ground here and share what I love to listen to during my busy day. Some are informative, some are thought provoking, some are silly, and some are very heavy on one's emotional well being. No matter what you listen to, thank you for listening to this podcast and helping me make it to episode 10.
