Remember when it took a while to order a drink at a bar?  Remember being in a bar and getting a drink that wasn't a double that you purposely made for yourself?  Remember talking to strangers, without fear of contracting a deadly virus.  How about buffets?  I do, and in this week's podcast, I talk about all the things I miss pre-pandemic.  Like for example this week's episode art is a going away party I attended at a brewery 1 year ago this week.  Look at us, we're so happy and carefree.  Not a care in the world.  Washing our hands barely or wiping our hands on our pants or on a nearby dog.

Today's episode features an interview with my friend and former coworker Khue Tran.  We always talked about work at the biotechnology company we spent hours at but sometimes we talk about important social issues and causes we support.  After the past couple of weeks of countless violence against elderly Asians in the Bay Area and New York, I am at a loss about how to react.  Anger seems to be the first emotion that I feel, but I needed to talk to someone who is also apprehensive like myself and who has parents who could be targeted the same.

My dear mother turned 70 this week, so I talk about her life (or what I remember her telling me) and then a little about my life with her as a child and then back to my mom and how she is enjoying her twilight years.   I discuss what she sacrificed for myself and my brother.  Standard mother stuff.  I get emotional. If you listen to any of my episodes so far, THIS is the one to listen to. 

Also, I was wrong in the last segment, all 3 of the kids in the episode art are probably about the same age.
