What's the role and influence of social media on young Latinos in college?
Those who got accepted into college right before the pandemic started had a bizarre and dysfunctional relationship with the education system. Things were figured out on the way, with improvised restrictions and education programs adapted to the new reality, so students had to rely on social media not only for educational purposes but also to nourish their social life.
In today's episode, I'm joined by Izabella Ortega, born and raised in Pasadena, a Senior Law student from the University of California in Santa Cruz. Izabella is the daughter of two successful Latinos, Dr. V and Dr. Ortega, both Ph.D. graduates and good friends of the show.
Tune in to Episode 138 of Amiga, Handle Your Shit, and learn about Izabella's experiences in College during Covid and her thoughts on the effects of social media on students' personal life and academic performance. Izabella also talks about how social media helped her mitigate the solitude of social distancing, why it's crucial to address social media's lack of boundaries, her views on screenagers' future, and much more.
