Am I the only one who doesn't smoke weed?

It seems to be more apparent that everyone is getting high.

Yes I understand that it is a plant and it's natural, however it's still a substance that alters your mind.

I'm sure this could be a highly debated topic with other natural herbal treatments out there.

However my point on not using weed is that it quickly becomes a crutch. 

The point is to exist fully in life, not to dull yourself.

Relapse is a very big part of getting sober.  Staying sober isn't easy and it is a battle every day.

Many addicts that get sober don't always have the means for therapy. This leads to a challenge while facing the obstacles of life.  Those moments hit, and you no longer have the crutch to run to when things hurt.

This is a very real episode on the struggles of getting sober.

Being in recovery is the greatest gift.  It's also such a burden, because I see other addicts struggling and want to reach out and help.

The hardest thing is knowing there is nothing you can do.  An addict has the control, and they have to want help. 

This episode talks more in detail about this struggle, of wanting to help.  Being an addict in the grips of it, and unaware of what is going on.

I hope this episode gives you some insight into an addict life.

Dry January, or any month you set for yourself to test out sobriety can be a life changing decision.

It can open your eyes to new perspectives and ways to see the world.

There is so much to learn in being sober.  This episode is about when you make that choice to try being sober, maybe it's simply to not drink for a month due to health reasons.  Whatever it may be I know you will find something incredible out of setting that goal for yourself.
