Looking for your next summer read? Well do we have the perfect book for you! In this episode, Jess and Nat talk about the incredible book, "The Stand-In", by Lily Chu.  This story follows Gracie Reed on her journey to impersonate one of the most famous movie stars in the world, Wei Fangli. Not only does she have to adjust to a new world of luxury and fame, but she also has to interact with movie star Sam Yao, who's not thrilled with this plan. The book follows issues surrounding family, self-doubt, and mental health. 

While Jess was swooning over the incredibly attractive Sam, Nat does her best to figure out what the big plot twist is going to be. This book was truly incredible and we hope you hear the enthusiasm in our voices as we go through our thoughts. While this book has romance in it, it covers a variety of other topics, you see the development of numerous friendships and seeing what it means to embrace your own identity. 

There are numerous platforms to read this book, including paperback and on Audible (voiced by the incredible Phillipa Soo).
