Soul Care Notes
Episode 24: At His Table — A Place of Compassion
Scripture: John 11:28–44 (NRSVUE)
Episode Summary:
In this tender moment from John 11, we find Jesus weeping with Mary and Martha before raising Lazarus from the dead. This story invites us to experience the compassion of Christ—not just in His power to restore, but in His presence amid our pain.
Using Imaginative Prayer, we reflect on this passage from three perspectives:
- Martha—wrestling with faith and loss
- Mary—bringing sorrow honestly to Jesus
- You—present in the scene, witnessing the love of a Savior who weeps with us
This episode reminds us that Jesus is not only the resurrection and the life—He is also the One who stays, grieves, and loves deeply.
Reflection Questions:
- What emotions rose as you imagined Jesus weeping with you?
- How are you holding grief and faith together right now?
- Where might Jesus be calling something back to life in you?
