John Maytham speaks to political analyst and author Professor William Gumede, Founder of the Democracy Works Foundation and author of 'Restless Nation: Making Sense of Troubled Times'. Professor Gumede argues that South Africa’s democracy will remain stagnant unless citizens begin voting based on competence and accountability, rather than identity or history.
