1. What specifically are you doing on a continual basis to inform your mind so that God transforms you?

2. What percentage of the material that you take in is biblical? How much do you know in your spirit is just plain unhealthy and it runs counter to renewing your mind? In other words, how much of your intake is just plain garbage?

3. To what extent is your Bible reading coupled with meditation? How often do you get up from your Bible reading knowing there’s an attitude to change, a sin to repent of, or an action you need to take?

Herod the King is Herod I, or Herod the Great.

Wise men from the East.

They saw “His star” when it arose.

Herod’s response was to be troubled!

The wise men worship and gave Jesus gifts—gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Mary, Joseph, and Jesus end up in Nazareth of Galilee.

So, what?

1. Where God guides, He provides!

2. Christian giving is a sacrificial honor to God and of great practical benefit to God’s people!

3. God is sovereign in His providence.

4. Which kingdom will we pursue?

2) Mary was betrothed to Joseph—a direct descendent of King David

3) Mary would conceive a son by the Holy Spirit and name Him Jesus

4) Jesus would be Son of the Most High and the promised Messiah

5) Elizabeth is pregnant too

6) Mary was submissive to the Word of God

The prophecy affirmed (39-45)

1) Blessed is Mary and blessed is her child

2) Mary is carrying Elizabeth’s Lord

3) Mary is blessed because she believed God’s message

The Magnificat—Mary’s response to the goodness of God (46-55)

1) Personal salvation

2) Great things He has done for her personally

3) He has lifted up the humble and torn down the proud

4) He has fulfilled His promises of old
