Welcome to tonight’s Bedtime Haunting. Tonight I have something a little different and kind of special. It’s an original story I wrote back in 2017. This episode was originally released exclusively on my pattern feed.

I submitted this story for a writing competition where your prompt was simply a painting. My painting was of a woman wearing a yellow dress. ( I posted a photo of the painting on my pattern page.)

Where I am from in the South, you hear a lot of tall tales about gators. The gulf coast of Florida and Alabama are littered with them. I think we get so used to them that we sometimes forget just how deadly they can be.

There’s an old bridge outside of Meridian, Mississippi, that stopped carrying traffic and started creating legends. The most well-known of which being that of Stuckey Dalton of the infamous Dalton Gang. Legend has it that Stuckey used the bridge to lure unsuspecting travelers to their deaths.
