What comes to mind when you hear the word value? Is it money? Appreciation? How about standards? Value is really what you make it out to be. Sometimes, we get caught up in someone else’s opinions based on their status or economic background and we lose ourselves. Self-talk is important for this in order to remind us that our value doesn’t go down based on someone else’s status or opinions. We are complex beings and can continue to learn from each other but it doesn’t mean we are better than or less than someone else. You set your own value in the way you carry yourself, your self worth, and who you are as a person in general. So next time you’re struggling with this, just ask yourself: “V” is for what?
