Welcome to the Podcast Pit, held on Monday, August 1st, 2022. During this live event, we have a discussion on the importance of having a healthy relationship with yourself while you are single as well as while you are dating. This is a reminder to never forget who you are and to continue to follow your purpose every day.
Red flags. We hear this term everywhere when it comes to dating and romantic relationships. However, have you thought about red flags in friendships, family, or even business relationships? We may like to joke around online about the red flags and although these tend to be lighthearted conversations, red flags in real life are no joke. They can tear down an individual’s self-esteem, self-confidence, and even identity. We must learn the difference between red flags and flaws as well as what our own limitations are when it comes to dealing with people. Sometimes, we must make a decision with what relationships we want in our lives and it all starts with asking ourselves, how big are they?

Do you really know yourself? As in, do you know what your passions are? Your core values? Or your goals? How about your fears, triggers, or doubts? These are aspects of ourselves we must get to know if we truly want to grow. One of the main ways to do that is by checking in with yourself. In this episode, we discuss the importance of checking in with ourselves regularly in life, love, and goals as part of our self love journey and the effects in doing so. Since we all have different mindsets and paths, our check ins will look different in type and consistency. However, one thing we all will have in common with these check-ins is that they must be done alone, just with ourselves first. By completing these regular check-ins we will be able to find or re-find our purpose, change our habits/mindset for the better, and much more! So this is a reminder and a question to everyone out there: did you check in?

The truth is you’re not alone in this. A lot of us struggle to receive anything in life, especially if it’s positive. In this episode, we discuss the importance of learning to receive the good in our lives in order for us to grow as individuals. We discuss the importance of being open to different people and perspectives while also practicing discernment. You never know where life is going to take you as long as you are open to receive.

Confidence. It’s a word we hear every day where we are constantly flooded with tips on how to improve it and how to maintain it. However, it’s rare for us to hear it being tied into our identity and its importance. In this episode, we talk about why knowing your identity outside of trends, social media, and relationships is important to your self-confidence. We deep dive into spending time with yourself and how knowing yourself from within will keep you from being shaken out of your confidence. Although confidence is something to be worked on constantly, it is important to own it so that your worth doesn’t become easily influenced by outside validation. It is important to identify with your confidence, don’t deny it.

Have you ever ruined your own day by a problem you created? One moment you’re relaxing and then the next you’re all stressed out because you started thinking of all the ways your day could go wrong. Or maybe you started thinking of all the things you have to take care of tomorrow so now you can’t even enjoy today. Sometimes we get into our own head and ruin our day by focusing on the negative. We may feel like we don’t deserve that happy moment or we want to be prepared for when things go south. The truth is, if we want to find a problem we will always find it but why do that to ourselves? We are just as worthy of the happy times as we are of everything else. In this episode, we focus on the importance of being mindful in the present moment and how to avoid creating problems that shouldn’t be or aren’t even there.

What comes to mind when you hear the word value? Is it money? Appreciation? How about standards? Value is really what you make it out to be. Sometimes, we get caught up in someone else’s opinions based on their status or economic background and we lose ourselves. Self-talk is important for this in order to remind us that our value doesn’t go down based on someone else’s status or opinions. We are complex beings and can continue to learn from each other but it doesn’t mean we are better than or less than someone else. You set your own value in the way you carry yourself, your self worth, and who you are as a person in general. So next time you’re struggling with this, just ask yourself: “V” is for what?
