Spiegel & Holmes Show

In the final hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel put the finishing touches on previewing the Bears-Buccaneers game. The whole crew also wrapped up the celebration of Parkins' birthday, which we thankfully don't have to celebrate for another year now.

In the third hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel were joined by Score analyst Olin Kreutz to preview the Bears-Buccaneers matchup Sunday. Can we find any bit of optimism for the seemingly insurmountable matchup against a 44-year-old Tom Brady? Then, we checked in with the city of Tampa directly, welcoming on Buccaneers radio pregame and postgame host Ronnie Lane.

In the second hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel reacted to Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson promising that he simply hit the wrong button when he posted his team-issued fine to Instagram on Wednesday. Sure, Jaylon. Also, we have an update on actor Alec Baldwin killing someone on set while filming a movie. Then, we held our seventh edition of Parkins vs Parkins vs Spiegel vs Spiegel. Rubin is getting ready to absolutely run the table. Not looking good! And of course, we had more embarrassing birthday calls from Parkins' friends and family.

Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel opened their show by celebrating a big event -- it’s Danny’s birthday. Naturally, we plan on roasting the absolute SHIT out of him. Plan to hear from plenty of family members, childhood friends and colleagues. Also, Bulls Radio play-by-play man Chuck Swirsky stopped by the studio to preview the team's home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.

In the final hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel revisited an important topic from a day prior -- we couldn't end the show without revisiting Spiegs’ trash charcuterie board. And then, we shared a bonus theory about objectivity and subjectivity when it comes to what food tastes good and what food tastes bad. Surprisingly enough, executive producer Shane Riordan sounded like an absolute moron. Then, Jon Morosi of Fox Sports and MLB Network joined the show live from Houston to discuss the latest MLB playoff storylines and whether the league has any idea what it's doing when it comes to scheduling games for mass consumption. Also, Portillo’s has gone public! What’s your order?

In the third hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel were joined by good friend Dave Wannstedt in studio for his weekly visit -- and he still hasn’t refilled the bourbon stash. Running out of chances! As a coach, how do you handle a situation like the Bears' Matt Nagy dealt with when cornerback Jaylon Johnson posted news of his fine to Instagram? And what about unvaccinated players like running back Damien Williams?

We love Score legend Les Grobstein. But we might love Grobstein callers even more. And there was a great one very early this morning.

In the second hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel were joined by Paul Charchian of GuillotineLeagues.com for his weekly fantasy football hit. Then, after a pretty darn successful season opener for the Bulls on Wednesday evening, Joe Cowley of the Sun-Times joined the show to break down Chicago's win in Detroit. It seems like Cowley has changed his tune when it comes to star guard Zach LaVine. Also, we love Score legend Les Grobstein. But, we might love Grobstein callers even more. And there was a great one very early this morning.

Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel opened their show by reacting to the Bulls' 94-88 win against the Pistons on Wednesday. How was the Bulls season premiere for you? Frustrating but overall satisfying? That’s how it was for us. Also, is star guard Zach LaVine a max-contract guy? Parkins believes he is -- and Bulls coach Billy Donovan has LOTS of nice things to say.
