In the final hour, Matt Spiegel welcomed co-host Danny Parkins back in for a segment after Parkins got some much-deserved rest after hosting every minute of a 24-hour radiothon that benefitted Austin Harvest, a food mart on the West Side. Parkins did incredible work in helping raise nearly $700,000 for a community that desperately needs a grocery store.

Matt Spiegel opened the show by reflecting on the What About Chicago Radiothon, which raised more than $650,000 for the Austin Harvest food mart. Soundman Chris Tannehill then recapped his trip to Pittsburgh to see the White Sox play the Pirates earlier in the week. Later, Cubs star Kris Bryant reacted to the initial checks of pitchers for foreign substances.

In the final hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel looked ahead to the What About Chicago Radiothon that Parkins and the station will host Wednesday. It will benefit Austin Harvest, a food mart in the Austin neighborhood. As part of the radiothon, Parkins plans to be on live air for 24 straight hours.
