Spiegel & Holmes Show

In the final hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel focused on a really important topic. This past weekend, Troy Aikman posted a photo of a group of his buddies on Jimmy Johnson’s boat. Who were those friends? Oh, just our guys Dave Wannstedt and Tony Wise! After that, the guys discussed Parkins' crutch words. What’s his worst quality on the air? Also, is the Cubs' offense as bad as we think? Kevin Goldstein of FanGraphs wrote about that and shortstop Javier Baez’s slow start this season. As always, we ended the show with your questions in the One Last Thing segment.

In the third hour, Danny Parkins, Matt Spiegel and producers Shane Riordan and Chris Tannehill listened and reacted to White Sox manager Tony La Russa's explanation for why rookie Andrew Vaughn isn't playing against Cleveland on Tuesday evening. Then, do you have a sports opinion that might cost you $500,000? Former MLB catcher Paul Lo Duca had one about umpire Joe West that cost him a half-million dollars.

Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel opened the second hour by comparing audio from former Cubs manager Joe Maddon in 2017 and current skipper David Ross from Monday in which they both discussed shortstop Javier Baez's "B hack." After that, Jon Morosi of MLB Network joined the show to discuss the White Sox's use of prized youngster Andrew Vaughn and the Cubs' lack of offensive production. Also, the White Sox's lineup is out for Tuesday evening and it seems as though manager Tony La Russa thinks outfielder Nick Williams is the second coming.

Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel opened their show with baseball talk. Is White Sox outfielder Nick Williams an offensive superstar? Likely. Remember when Spiegel came out a few weeks ago and said to hammer the Cubs' over of 74.5 wins? We do. He doesn’t. And should re-signing shortstop Javy Baez even be a conversation for the Cubs right now? Probably not.

In the last hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel discussed the Cubs dealing with COVID-19 concerns, as two coaches have now tested positive and three relievers are isolating away from the team. Could it affect their series against the Brewers? Later, the guys discussed how White Sox closer Liam Hendriks consulted his tarot card reader to get better on the field.
