Spiegel & Holmes Show

On Wednesday evening, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield tweeted that he saw a UFO fall from the sky. So in the third hour, Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel had to start by reacting to that. They also had a conversation about healing via tarot cards after hearing new White Sox closer Liam Hendriks discuss the topic on the Bernstein & Rahimi Show earlier in the day. Which brought them to this question: What’s the absolute craziest thing you believe in? A favorite conspiracy theory, maybe? Later, Big Dave of the "BAWL! On Sports" podcast joined the show to discuss the state of the Bulls at the All-Star break. Are they fun? Absolutely. Are they winners yet? Probably not.

Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel opened their show by discussing whether the Bears have a legitimate chance to create a trade package large enough to acquire Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson. Many national pundits seem to believe so. And this show -- outside of Parkins -- also believes that. After that, "Good Morning Football" host Kyle Brandt joined the show to assure us that Watson will be the Bears' starting quarterback in Week 1. Right?

Also, is there a chance Cubs have a breakout candidate in outfielder Joc Pederson? If you extrapolate his plate appearances, the numbers suggest Pederson might be ready to pop.

Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel opened their show by pondering this question: Do the Bears have a trick or two up their hairy sleeves? Maybe. Some folks like Kyle Brandt of the NFL Network believe we might be surprised by a massive move in the quarterback department. And Bears general manager Ryan Pace told us there are some names on their board who aren't being discussed in the media. Hmm ... we’re the media, so let’s discuss the rest of the names!

As always, we ended the show with your questions in the One Last Thing segment.
