  • May 05, 2015 – Pentecost and St. Joseph (Patron of Families, Part 1)
The same gift of the Holy Spirit that came in Pentecost is alive and well today. Are we opening ourselves to the gifts of the Holy Spirit to grow in holiness? To do God’s most Holy Will in our lives? If not, let’s make those changes now, for time is short and eternity is forever. Joe transitioned to discussing how St. Joseph is the patron of families and as such we must turn to him as the example par excellence. Part 2 to follow.

  • April 28, 2015 – St. Joseph (Faithful Servant)
Joe got fired up discussing how we as men, husbands, and fathers, ought to look at the Faithful Servant, St. Joseph, as our guide and model in how to become holy and pleasing to our Lord in properly fulfilling our Vocations. The keys are to be found in a simple and prompt obedience to the will of God, humility, and a cheerful devotedness.

  • April 21, 2015 – Divine Mercy
Joe finished up his explanation and commentary on the gift of Divine Mercy as well as how to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. From Our Lord’s own lips, “From this fountain of mercy souls draw graces solely with the vessel of trust. If their trust is great, there is no limit to My generosity.” Finally, Our Lord says, “Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will.”

  • April 14, 2015 – Divine Mercy
Joe talked about the importance of developing a personal and intimate relationship with our Lord. It is in this relationship we see clearly the message of Divine Mercy as revealed to St. Faustina. The gift of Divine Mercy to the Church is very powerful and also very loving. Our Lord clearly states “I demand from you deeds of mercy which are to arise out of love for me” and “The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is trust! The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive.” We can live with confidence that our loving Lord “has excluded no one” from His mercy and he desires all of us to be saints and live with him forever in heaven.

  • April 07, 2015 – Easter
Joe provided a short instruction on Indulgences and a brief introduction to Divine Mercy. He then transitioned to a reflection on Easter. A question to ponder during this Easter season would be “What is our desire to find Jesus?” Like the women at the tomb, we need to know we are sustained by God’s grace and through His providence, we will find Him by rolling away the stones in our own lives. What are the stones that are keeping us from growing closer to God? We must work diligently at overcoming those obstacles between God and us and have confidence and trust that He will do what we cannot do for ourselves. Alleluia, He has Risen!!!

  • March 31, 2015 – Holy Week and the Cross
Today Joe talked about making the final push during this Holy Week to grow in virtue and holiness. He also reminded us about the importance and value of Confession……the medicine for the soul! Lastly we ought to remember that all our sufferings and sacrifices, although done for others, must be borne with love for our Lord as that is what makes them sweet and takes away the bitter sting. This is what will bring us to a peace the world cannot provide.

  • March 24, 2015 – Lent and the devil
Today Joe passionately talked about making the most out of the time remaining in Lent. Recommitting ourselves with greater fervor to our Lenten Sacrifices. Be prepared to fight the devil and his minions as they are coming at us with more intensity during this Passiontide. The devil is a liar and a bully. Don’t allow his predictable tactics to remove your shame and ensnare you in a life of vice and sin. Run to Confession and be ready to witness a miracle in your own life. Remember what St. Augustine said, “Sincere Confession subdues vice, conquers the evil one, shuts the door of hell, and opens the gates of paradise”.

  • March 17, 2015 – Feast of St. Patrick
Joe continued his enthusiastic discussion on making good use of the last couple of weeks of Lent with a renewed vigor and commitment to our sacrifices as a way to continue to grow closer to Our Lord. He then transitioned to talking about the original “Iron Man”, St. Patrick. Sharing insights from his amazing life and looking in to his uniquely singular focus on serving God, glorifying God and saving souls.
