Scientists have long realized that emotional experiences, pleasure and pain are not unique to human beings, that animals also are capable of understanding and experiencing fear, sadness, anxiety, boredom and love. Animals are sentient, meaning they have the capacity to feel and experience emotions.
As Animal lovers, when you look at your pet, listen to them, gaze into their eyes as they look deeply into your Soul you know how they feel. What we see on the outside tells us a lot about what’s happening inside our pet’s mind and heart. You usually know how your pet feels because we know that animals feel emotions.
The scientific study of animal intelligence, emotions and social behavior has made huge leaps forward over the years. In 2012, a prominent group of scientists got together and signed The Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness. This declaration recognized that animals are conscious beings with feelings and emotions. The evidence to support this is overwhelming. If you have a pet, you know what I mean.
I have made the choice to stop buying products from companies that perform animal testing. I was so angry when I learned about cosmetic companies testing on animals because it is so stupid an unnecessary. I then began my research into companies that are cruelty free and there are many of them, many huge brand names you know and probably enjoy. I switched brands that I use and now feel much better supporting animals through supporting cruelty free brands. You too can help animals through personal choice of the products you use and end their suffering.
The easiest way to research cruelty free brands is the internet. The places you can research cruelty free products include:
https://www.crueltyfreekitty.com/
https://www.crueltyfreeinternational.org/LeapingBunny
https://crueltyfree.peta.org
Your simple choices can make a world of difference in the life of animals.
