  • Deadwood, S02E07- E.B. Was Left Out
Many thanks to Patrick for commissioning this episode! As we get further into Season 2, there's a lot of moving parts coming into play now that everyone is becoming aware of what happened at the Chez Ami. While E.B. is pissed off at not being allowed to join in the big meeting, but Al wisely decided that the little rat couldn't be trusted with this information about Francis Wolcott. I'm also really enjoying seeing Cy this uncomfortable.
Thank you for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!

  • Veronica Mars, S02E06- Rat Saw God
Oh my god, Y'all. Jacqui is going to kill me when she hears the intro to this episode, because she commissioned an episode from the densest podcaster who ever lived and she's going to want her money back.
IT WAS A RAT TAPED UNDER THE BUS SEAT. I JUST GOT IT. I AM AN IDIOT.
    Thanks for listening!

  • Deadwood, S02E06- Something Very Expensive
Hey there everyone! Let's all thank Patrick for commissioning this episode!
I'm so delighted that this episode handled Francis Wolcott's "preferences" so well by not making me sit through some sick scene like I had feared. I can deal with simple murder much better, and although it's truly horrifying that three women are dead at his hand, I have to say I'm just glad that Joanie makes it out alive. I hope that is a trend that continues.
Alma is dealing with her pregnancy as best she an, but there's no way to keep word from leaking out when she vomits in front of Sol and Ellsworth. I'm hoping the convos these two have stay secret because I'm not interested in watching Alma get torn down by this camp. And Miss Isringhausen better not pull any shit, either.
Thank you all so much for listening, and I will see you again soon with a new episode!

  • The Grace Of Kings- Episode 17
Thank you to Kyle for commissioning another episode covering The Grace Of Kings! I'm so happy that i get o dive back in again so soon.
Heh. You see what I did there? Dive? Because this is basically a naval battle? Damn I'm good.
No but seriously I really enjoyed this section. There's a million things going on regarding the takeovers of smaller states and the changing hands that rule them, but Mata decides that he's going to try and deal with that petty bullshit instead of looking at the real threat, which is obviously Kuni.
I feel pretty smug about that, until Mata does turn his attention to Kuni, and then it goes so damn well that I'm disgusted. Dammit, Mata, you choose now to get clever?

  • Sabriel- Episode 3
Many thanks to Abbey for commissioning another episode of Sabriel! I'm excited to be getting into the main body of this book, and I'm totally thrilled to be adding a magical cat to the mix.
Turns out that Mogget isn't really a cat, which we get to see firsthand when Sabriel takes his collar off later. I'm not at all sure what Mogget really is, but I guess there's no point in guessing since he tells us himself that he's multiple things.
I'm really feeling for poor Sabriel in this section because she's hardly getting space to breathe between crises. At least she gets a hot bath (kind of) and a soft bed for one night, but homegirl could probably have done with a week of rest after what she's gone through.
Thank you all so much for listening, and I will be seeing you soon with a new episode!

  • Son Of A Trickster- Episode 1
Many thanks to Robin S. for commissioning Son Of A Trickster! I'm excited to be starting something brand new!
This book deals with a population that I don't know much about, namely the indigenous peoples of British Columbia. I'm barely acquainted with the indigenous peoples of the United States, and this is a wholly unfamiliar landscape I'm being introduced to. I got a really interesting email from Robin after doing this first episode, which I will be reading at the start of the next episode, which tells a lot more about some fascinating details regarding the nations mentioned in these chapters.
I'm always a big fan of magical realism, although I'm not totally sure how much this is going to fall into that category as we continue to move on. It may turn into full-on urban fantasy, and I'm really excited to find out. Robin has commissioned the whole book I believe, so you're all in for a ride!
Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!

  • Charmed Life- Episode 4
Thank you so much to Patricia for commissioning this episode! I'm having so much fun reading this weird book, and I am truly mystified by what is revealed in this section.
It turns out that our dear friend Cat (who, incidentally, is really annoying me in this part of the story) has – or rather, had – nine lives, and now he's unfortunately down to 3. I can't say that I have too much sympathy for him on that front, considering that I only have 1 life, but what can you do.
Not only that, but there's a dragon! A baby dragon! What on earth?! And it's so cute!
Thank you so much for listening, and I will see you soon with the final episode of the book!

  • Derry Girls- Episode 5
OMG you guys. Thank you so much to Ashleigh for commissioning this show and introducing these ridiculous people into my life.
This episode I talk about some new things that I've never known about, namely the Orange Order and the way they function in Ireland. I'm blown away that people grew up (and are still growing up) in this sort of weird climate. The whole family totally vacates town when it's time for the parade! And they seem to do this pretty much every year! That's NUTS!
Meanwhile, there's some rebel hiding in their damn trunk and he doesn't seem the slightest bit phased at being discovered. This whole scene in the diner is just so good.
    I love this show, y'all.

  • Deadwood, S02E05- Complications
Many thanks to Patrick for commissioning another episode of Deadwood!
I have to warn you all that I get pretty fucking emotional during this episode. It was bad enough that after watching the Crowdcast, poor Patrick wrote me an email assuring me that I didn't have to continue with coverage if I didn't feel comfortable. But this show has been so good that I'm going to push through even though some of the issues in this episode are so incredibly brutal that they made me feel physically sick.
There's some seriously good shit in this episode, too. I mean, Al is starting to come back from the brink of death and I'm so thrilled to see how handles everyone. He's already getting fed information (ahead of the recommendations of the Doc) about what is going on in camp and he seems pretty agitated.
Thank you all so much for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!

  • The Grace Of Kings- Episode 16
Thank you to Kyle for commissioning this episode! I'm excited to be hopping back into this book again, since it's been a while.
This is a really fun section, because we get to see some serious ingenuity from Kuni's people, and it seems like his deep open mindedness is showing them off to their full potential. I mean, my god, underwater watercraft, this is a serious fucking advancement. Holy shit.
Meanwhile, there's something else going on with Mata and his lady. He hasn't slept with her, but there's an understanding amongst everyone that she's essentially the queen now. Mira doesn't seem too happy about this, and I really wonder what she's going to do with that knife she was given. I hope she fucking uses it.
