So far, Charmed Life has me baffled, but in a good way. I'm still trying to figure out exactly is going on here, because I definitely think there's more going on than meets the eye.
These chapters are almost all taken up with Gwendolyn showing off, tormenting people, and generally making a complete nuisance of herself with magic. She's The Worst, and I really want someone to slap her across the face and put her in her place because the way she's carrying on is untenable. Sure, some of the magic she's done is impressive, like moving all the trees up against the house, or getting a million moles to ruin the lawns. But obviously, Gwen, since everything you've tried gets set right in about an hour, you've obviously met your match. How about you take it down a notch?
This bitch, I swear.

It's time for our troops to regroup and figure out how to separate the Ichani from one another so that they can take them down separately. It's really their only chance, and the concept that they devise is actually really smart. At least SOMEONE in this damn city is using their heads!
Also, I have to admit that I'm impressed with Cery and his single-minded determination in all of this. He's willing to dress like a Magician and risk his life on behalf of the city, and that's really something.
I am so curious what's going to happen once the Ichani get into the heart of the Guild. What are they going to do?

They are CLEARLY perfect for each other, and omg it's excruciating to watch them wanting to tear each others' clothes off and i just NEED them to be a couple pretty please.
In other news, because of the treaty that's supposedly happening with the Sioux, Al has decided that it would be smart for them to start a sort of unofficial government to get the authorities to leave them to their own devices when the time comes. There's something terrible happening, though; E.B. is going to be the Mayor. UGH.

Hey everyone, I'm here with the next episode of The Blood Of Elves thanks to Melanie!
This episode we get to find out a little more of what happened to Triss, and it seems like the situation was pretty fucking nightmarish. She's a real badass for being as collected as she is, and I'm super curious what this voice that keeps taunting her is up to.
Understandably, Triss has some pretty strong feelings about the way the Witchers try to keep themselves apart from everything, and in the end it seems that the Princess feels the same way. They two of them underwent some terrible traumas that these men will never understand, and they want some vengeance, or justice, or both.

I'm really surprised at the way the whole invasion is going down because I truly thought that the Ichani would continue to be covert until they were able to get right up to the Guild gates. Instead, they walk right the fuck up and start to lay the smackdown.
There is so much happening here, and I'm really concerned about how foolish the Guild is being overall. How are they this dense?

There is so much Deadwood to post, and I'm really excited to specifically get past this episode because this one was probably my least favorite of the season. It wasn't terrible, it's just that the con-artist subplot wraps up really abruptly and according to Patrick (who generously commissioned this episode) it was supposed to have gone on for longer and there were some actor issues that caused it to be cut short.
Of course, there are other things that are great about this episode. For example, the absolute heartbreaking reality of Trixie's situation is really summarized eloquently in her storyline involving the Widow Garret. I absolutely adore the Doc, and I get a better understanding of exactly why Trixie was so deeply offended at Mrs. Garret's original offer.
This show is so great, I can't wait to share more!

Many thanks to D'Nique for commissioning this episode! I'm so excited to be starting the next book in the Parables series, and this one looks like it's going to be a doozy.
While this book includes lots of journal entries by Lauren Olamina, the POV character of the last book, it's framed around the thoughts and feelings of Lauren's daughter (whose name I don't think we've even learned yet). Lauren's daughter seems to despise and distrust her mother in a way that only someone's child can hate them, with the familiarity that bred contempt. Apparently a lot has changed since Lauren's entries were written, and there's been quite a bit of growth in the Earthseed community.
I really enjoyed these chapters and I'm super curious what happened to Lauren to make her daughter hate her the way she does. Stay tuned for new episodes!

Hurray! We're back for the next chapter of The Blood Of Elves, which is actually Chapter 2 even though it's episode 3. These are some long chapters, so only one per episode for the foreseeable future!
This chapter we meet Tris, a magician who has been summoned to the remaining Witchers in order to give them advice and guidance regarding the princess they're caring for and training. It turns out that they've been a wee bite remiss in some of the things they should be covering with her.

Y'all! I'm not going to lie, I still keep underestimating this author and then being newly surprised when he does something beautiful and awesome with his female characters.
These chapters are all about Gin, a wonderful new character that I'm sure I'm going to grow to love. She's got a hell of a backstory, and I'm a big fan of the nuance that Liu lends to all of her actions and her history. She's not some cookie-cutter "strong woman" with no emotions and a disdain for the feminine. She's rad and tough and vulnerable and really fucking brave.
I love this book!
