His dad was a longtime football coach at Algona, IA and he started his coaching career for the legendary Ed Thomas at Aplington Parkersburg while still in college. His career led him to Prairie Valley and Boone before becoming the HC for DCG in 2023.

New Head Coach Kyle Green sits down with Dr. Bowser and Brian Dutler and talks about his vision for the UNI Panthers. His Father - Tom Kopatich (also an Iowa HS Hall of Fame Coach) won 2 state titles at Cedar Rapids LaSalle. His long HS Football Coaching career also included stops at Dubuque Wahlert, Davenport Assumption and Ottumwa.
