On this week's episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman we have a treat for you reptile fans! We were joined by John Hebenthal who is a rattlesnake hunting phanatic! John loves the outdoors and all creatures that walk it... or slither it! He takes passion learning as much as he possibly can about wildlife, and sharing his knowledge with those who are willing to listen.
We begin by learning how this fascination began followed by his journey rattlesnake hunting. Along the way you'll find that John is not afraid to open some books, scan the internet, read peer-reviewed research, and collaborate with experienced snake enthusiasts. John has soaked in rattlesnake knowledge like a sponge! We discuss tools of the trade, safety, biology of rattlesnakes, seasonal habits and patterns, map scouting for snakes, and much more!

On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, we continue The Fall Sessions series and talk about deer hunting rules and regulations. Aaron and Dan get in to an in-depth conversation about some of the deer hunting rules and regulations in Michigan and Iowa that they both like and dislike. Topics include non-resident tags, number of bucks tags a hunter can acquire in a year, cost of tags, and season dates. Whether you agree or disagree, it's difficult to find rules and regulations that make everyone happy. Please leave your comments on Instagram and let us know if you are happy with the rules and regs in your state. Enjoy and share!

On this episode of The Western Rookie Podcast, Brian talks with Cameron Manwaring about an exciting new option for showing off your big game trophies.
Cameron is one of the co-founders of Mini Muleys, a crazy cool new company that can make mini replicas of your big game animals with the exact same character and colors as the original. Cameron and Brian chat about the different options this allows hunters to use, from doing a Euro with your original animal and a shoulder mount Mini, to getting Minis made from African Big Game animals and potentially having them waiting for you at home by the time you get back. Also, use the code TROPHY30 to save 30% on your Mini Muley order! Available for a limited time! Check out Mini Muleys at the links below to learn more.

In this week’s [UNCENSORED] podcast by GoWild, we start off with some silliness and ask where our regional accents and drawls come from. How much does alcohol influence their appearances? What happens to your accent when you’re born and raised somewhere and then visit or move to another area … do you fake it or have you made it? How does age affect how it happens?
Derek went up to central Ohio to turkey hunt with our good buddy Paul Campbell of the O2 Podcast and How to Hunt Turkey Podcast. They hunted both private and public land, saw some birds, hunted a few different ways, and got real close to some toms … find out how they did. They follow two key tactics for killing birds: with your feet or with your seat. They also remind us that even if you’re calling and not hearing birds respond, they are still hearing you. How does vegetation affect hunting as the season progresses?
We also discuss how public land parcels are neglected and trashed by people. This may not be hunters or anglers doing it and it’s not the fault of the state wildlife agency; so who is creating these messes and what can we do about it?
Arica took her kids pond fishing and they got into some panfish. They’re planning a trip up to Michigan and are hoping to target pike, bass, and more. School gets out soon and they’ll be camping hard until the end of summer. Dan Johnson from Sportsmen’s Empire raises a great question about kids’ age and camping: how young is too young to take a big trip to somewhere like Yellowstone? At a young age, are they able to get around and will they even remember it? Can you train and condition kids to prepare for a big trip and long hikes?
Dan and Derek talk about the tags they’ve drawn already, are planning to draw, and hint at some of their fall hunting plans.
If you like what you’re hearing, please leave us a rate and review!!
[UNCENSORED] by GoWild kicks off your week with shameful nonsense, inappropriate convictions, and unfiltered tales from the woods, waters and whatevers. [UNCENSORED] is a behind the scenes look at our adventures, failures, wins, embarrassing moments at trade shows, hilarious tales from the warehouse, and a good rant or three about the most recent tyranny from the Dark Lord of the Sith himself.
The show launches every Monday morning. Subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.

When turkey season comes to a close, many outdoorsmen and women hang the camo in the closet and prepare for the long summer off season. Bransen Shelton had other plans this year though. He and a few buddies loaded up the truck and headed west for a spring bear hunt. This week on the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast, Bransen joins John to talk about the insane amount of time and work it took to bring down a DIY public land bear.
Bransen had hunted the western mountains before, but never for spring bear. He talks about the intense grind the hunt required in order to be successful. Long days and lots of miles. Some days waking up before 4:30am and not going to bed till well after 11pm. He goes through some of the gear he used on the trip and how he was able to stay in the back country for so long. He also gets into the different hunting styles the group used throughout the week, and how he specifically went against some of the usual tactics a lot of people use.
