Spot of Nerd

I kid you not folks… #ash is truly one of the greatest films I’ve ever seen! At this very moment most definitely takes the cake on being the NUMBER 1 film of 2025… so far!

This is what true cinema can be, and is… From an original story, to the thriller-esk GORE, ASH brings you along for a metaphoric thrill ride (pun intended) that begs for a future in the series that I hope becomes a reality!

Seriously, I cannot stress it enough, this film OWNS every major studio out there currently and every franchise from #marvel to #starwars… Imagine the original #alien on steroids! With a modern twist that will leave you going, ‘WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH!?’ Of course in the best way possible…

Check it out now on #shudder, I believe the home of ‘thriller’ movies and ‘GORE’!?

And as always, let me know your thoughts in the comments… Hit that SUBSCRIBE button too while you’re at it! Thanks!

We’ll see ya next time, LATERS!

Whelp, as they say, “I came, I saw, and unfortunately it’ll kick everyone’s A$$!”

#thunderbolts is the 36th film from the MCU I believe? And it is most definitely causing quite the BUZZ…

But absolutely not in the way you might think… In a few words, this film from #marvel is just sad. It’s depressing, and if Disney actually believes they’re tackling the ‘loneliness’ debate, put simply, it’s LAUGHABLE!

From the same company that will destroy you for thinking outside the box… *COUGHS* Gina Carano, Disney wants you to start thinking about #mentalhealth. They want you to make sure you know that you are NOT ALONE!

Hate to break it to you, but if the MCU is deciding to go down this road, ‘depression’ is going to be their last worry…

Let me know your thoughts in the comments around the supposed #newavengers?!

Again, it blows my mind that Marvel Studios is relying on characters NO ONE can even name to ultimately run their next Phase 6…

No pun intended, it’s a metaphoric story of the ages… But at what point do we say enough is enough? In the realm of what is in fact REALITY vs FICTION…

Media is there for one sole purpose - TO ENTERTAIN. It begs the question, when was the last time you were entertained? When was the last time you watched your favourite show and went, “WOW!”

In 2025, the world of #identitypolitics engulfs everything… So why doesn’t losing BILLIONS in revenue mean anything to the big studio heads? Why doesn’t anyone blink an eye to the loss of countless fandoms and franchises to the infamous MESSAGE!

It’s quite simple if you think about it… It’s all by design.

Let’s talk about it! From #fantasticfour to #starwarscelebration… And yes, even I’ll admit #thelastofus this week wasn’t half bad… This episode is sure to HOPEFULLY spark not only some interest, but embrace discussion around a well known subject… BE KIND!

And rewind…

As promised folks, we’ll be doing smaller length descriptions here, so that way we can just get down to BUSINESS!

In this episode we’re talking #aminecraftmovie, #cinemacon, and my HESITANTLY OPTIMISTIC feeling around one of Disney’s most underrated franchises… #tronares!

If you call yourself a true movie fan, or have passions around fiction, fandoms, and characters that have a special place in your heart, you know one of cinemas most underrated films was #tronlegacy… It was ahead of its time! So with the NOW official upcoming release of a THIRD Tron film, the stakes are higher than ever!

And then there’s A Minecraft Movie… How on God’s green earth it’s doing so successful is well beyond me… And to be clear, for those of us (me included) “DOGGING” on the film, we’re not disrespecting the fans, the fandoms, etc… We are however wondering how this is a movie that can be classified as ‘OSCAR-worthy’?! Just no…

Lastly, we lost a LEGEND this past week, Mr. #valkilmer and thankfully #tomcruise was able to honour his LEGACY at this year’s Cinemacon!

TWO-HUNDRED and FIFTY…

250 EPISODES! From your favourite NERD, Spot of Nerd!

Now, this is going to be a bit of a longer episode, but I promise it’s worth it in every way. Moving forward as well, we’re going to limit these descriptions to a more brief detail on what to expect in the coming episode. This way we can focus in more on the content vs what I’m putting here…

So… If you’ve done the math, 3 movies in 3 minutes would make this episode 9 minutes, yet it’s dam near 30 minutes! That’s because we also need to talk about the future of this Channel and the material we’re going to put out. SPOILER - It’s all about #rumble.

Until then though, please enjoy our 250th EPISODE where we’re discussing Novocaine, The Electric State, and Mickey 17… Should you watch? Or should you avoid them at all costs? Watch and listen to find out! Let me know your thoughts in the COMMENTS!

On a final note, I want to send a sincere appreciation to everyone that has and continues to support this Channel… Never in a million years would I ever thought I’d continue doing this… Let alone over 250 videos uploaded! I send you all, including those HATERS, my love and support and hope you’ll continue to watch/listen over the NEXT 250 episodes…

We’ve only just begun the EPIC that #spotofnerd is and looking at the alternative that is Rumble, something tells me that when we focus voices like mine on platforms that promote true freedom of speech, the possibilities are ENDLESS!

I PRAY you’ll continue to come on this journey with me!

Thank you!

We’ll catch you guys in 251, LATERS!

We always save the BEST for last… At least during this INCREDIBLE SERIES from yours truly, Spot of Nerd. It’s time we talk about one of the most unique films I’ve ever seen in my entire life… #betterman.

As mentioned in the REVIEW… I not only had no idea this movie existed, but what drew me in was one thing and one thing only… The main cast member was a what? A literal MONKEY!

Come to find out it’s a biography on the life and story of #robbiewilliams, it only adds to the AMAZING that this film was… From overall filming, to the story itself, we’re not given the cliché musician turned drug addict who flipped his life around… Instead, we’re given all of that in a story of struggle and SUCCESS.

Yes, there were hardships in Robbie’s life… And I’m not going to pretend I’m a big fan of his anyways. But ultimately this film shows what hard work can achieve. Something I feel today’s generation is MISSING substantially.

So if there’s one movie out of SIX we’ve discussed this week to watch, Better Man is it! And if you have #paramountplus, it’s currently streaming there. Check it out now!

And that’s a wrap folk! SIX ALL-NEW EPISODES, from your favourite NERD, Spot of Nerd! I genuinely HOPE you enjoyed this past week of AWESOME and I’d love to know your thoughts in the COMMENTS! Are you going to watch some of these films? Will you avoid them? Have you seen them already!?

Next up we’ll be discussing #theelectricstate and #novocaine!

Make sure you don’t miss out and hit that SUBSCRIBE button now!

If you made it this far too, I am truly GRATEFUL, LATERS!

So, #hearteyes… Just WOW! Absolute WOW…

Just when you think to yourself, there’s no way Hollywood can make something so bad it rivals the likes of Rings of Power… Or even the Willow series on Disney Plus that was so bad, it got pulled completely off the NETWORK in a matter of days!

Heart Eyes said, “Hold my beer…” The only credit I will give it is the production value… They did put quality photography into it, and yes, the LED LITERAL heart eyes on the killer’s mask was well done… But it does NOT justify the HOT SEWAGE of a film that this was. Out of all the movies we’re discussing this week, this is definitely the one to AVOID.

It’s a movie that could legitimately be 10 minutes long… You’ll know everything you need to know in a matter of seconds of the opening credits, and quite frankly, anyone, including the actors and actresses… Production teams, and studios… Whomever thought this was a great idea for a movie, and ACTUALLY GREEN-LIT it, should all be FIRED and never work in this field again…

Just my two cents…

We’re down to only one more ALL-NEW episode for the week, which premieres TOMORROW, #betterman! Don’t miss out on completing SIX DAYS STRAIGHT of NEW movie reviews from yours truly Spot of Nerd!

After which we’ll get on to #theelectricstate and #novocaine to talk about as well… If I don’t do it earlier… LOL!

A FLIGHT you’ll definitely want to miss, today’s ALL-New episode brings us #flightrisk and sweet baby JEEBUS! I say it a lot, but I wasn’t expecting GOLD here… Just a little entertainment. With Flight Risk, you get NOTHING! You get whatever is beneath nothing?!

Jokes aside, I expected more from #melgibson and #markwahlberg, especially in a so-called ACTION FLICK. Instead we’re given DRY, BORING, and tragically horrific DIALOGUE in a story you’ve probably seen yesterday during your regularly scheduled programming. Nothing new, nothing remotely noteworthy to tell your friends on whether you should waste your time watching.

It’s simple… Don’t waste your time, don’t waste your money. Make sure you miss this flight at all costs!

Getting tired yet of some much EPIC!? Only 2 more episodes left for this week, #hearteyes and #betterman!

Then we have #theelectricstate and #novocaine to discuss as well…

We’re halfway through folks with our third REVIEW of the week, this time from the movie #getaway! Now, my apologies on the EDITING of this EPISODE… I completely BLANKED on the film title and kept saying “Get Out” instead of the actual movie we’re reviewing here, “GET AWAY”! So I figured we can all just deal with it… Either way, put simply, AVOID this movie at all costs and literally GET AWAY from it as much as you possibly can…

It’s really disappointing to think about… You hear the name #nickfrost and/or #simonpegg and you think GREAT MOVIES! There was #shaunofthedead… #hotfuzz… What could go wrong? Apparently everything. ‘Get Away’ crosses lines and instead of being fun, parody-driven… It relies on the FREAKY, abnormal and even grotesque story telling that personally is quite off-putting.

Do yourself a favor and if you even watch the trailer, if your brain goes, “I’ll give this a try.” Just DON’T! You’ll thank me for it later…

ALL-NEW REVIEWS each day this week! Tomorrow we’re REVIEWING #flightrisk, then #hearteyes, and we’ll finish the week of REVIEWS with #betterman!

Don’t forget we have to talk #theelectricstate and #novocaine as well!
