USFK engineers hosted the Tour De Seoul Bike Ride over the Chuseok holiday. Over forty bicyclists looped around the Northern Seoul metropolitan area, making stops at City Hall, the Blue House, and the Dongdaemun shopping district. The group travelled approximately thirty kilometers around the Seoul area.

Germany came to Korea as the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command held an Octoberfest themed hail and farewell. More than 100 Soldiers and family members took part in German fare such as bratwurst and potato salad while listening to German music. Commander of the 19th ESC, Brigadier General Paul C. Hurley, and his wife Kathy, hosted the event at their home.

Members from the U.S. Air Force 8th Civil Engineer Squadron and Republic of Korea Air Force 38th Fighter Group firefighters worked together to put out a fire on an aircraft trainer at Kunsan Air Base. The training aims to effectively extinguish the fire and also turn off the power in the jets ensuring the ejector doesn't pop out and damage or harm other pilots. This training will help both the Wolf Pack troops and the ROK AF troops work together in the event of a real world fire event.

Daegu American School held the third annual Storybook Parade on October 26. Students, dressed as their favorite story book characters, paraded around the school grounds showing off their costumes. The event was a great way to tie literature with Halloween holiday fun.

2nd Infantry Division Deputy Commanding General of Maneuvers, Brigadier General J.B. Burton recognized the 2ID Career Counselor of the Year, Staff Sergeant Tavares Wilson, from 210th Fires Brigade, at this year’s career counselors recognition ceremony on Camp Casey. He presented awards and certificates of achievement to the other deserving counselors in Area I.

210th Fires Brigade held a day long Thunder Run leadership training event on Camp Casey. The training welcomed new leaders to the brigade with a test of physical strength and mental toughness. The purpose was to train and unify brigade leaders in physical training, chemical defense, weapons skills, and to foster esprit de corps.

Women’s football teams at Kunsan heated up the field with some intense competition this season. For a full month, the five different powderpuff teams on Kunsan competed every Friday for the championship. In the end though, the Med Dogs proved victorious and earned the title. Though the games always get intense, the football season is an important staple in the close bond shared by members of the Wolf Pack.

Kunsan’s Airmen Committed to Excellence or ACE group, set their sights on a unique project to give back to the local community. It’s called Operation Kunsan Rides and these Airmen are fixing discarded and unwanted bikes from around Kunsan Air Base, and donating them to local organizations. Another great way troops at Kunsan work to build and improve relations with the local Korean culture.

U.S. Soldiers and KATUSAs from HHD USAG Casey competed against bravo 304th Signal Battalion in the Area I soccer semi finals at Rock Field on Camp Hovey. Going into the night, both teams had only lost one game a piece. Bravo Company pulled off with a close win, 1 to nothing. They’ll move on to play in the Area I finals.

Soldiers from Camp Humphreys visit the HAZMART facility and conduct spill response training as part of their pollution prevention and control environmental standown. They learned the proper spill response procedures and the proper personal protective equipment needed when responding to a spill. The Camp Humphreys Environmental Division requires all units to conduct this training twice a year.
