Be the Light, Not the Drama
Preached by Pastor Michael Petillo | January 18, 2026

In this message from Ephesians 5:10–17, Pastor Michael Petillo challenges believers to live with intentional wisdom in a world growing darker and more chaotic. Drawing from Revelation 12, he reminds the church that Satan knows his time is short—and because of that, darkness is working aggressively. In contrast, believers are called to make the most of their time by living as children of light.

Pastor Michael teaches that darkness is not primarily exposed through arguments, outrage, or withdrawal from the world, but through a consistently wise life. Scripture does not call believers to avoid unbelievers, but to avoid participating in their deeds. We are meant to stay connected to the world while remaining distinct—living as salt and light rather than retreating or blending in.

True spiritual influence comes when wisdom is visible in everyday decisions: how we speak, how we respond, how we use our time, and how we handle conflict, pressure, and temptation. A life marked by wisdom persuades others that the gospel is real. As Proverbs says, “He who wins souls is wise.”

Pastor Michael explains that wisdom is not automatic—it grows through trusting God’s goodness and obeying His Word, even when it is uncomfortable or costly. Many struggle with obedience because they view God as restrictive rather than good. But true wisdom begins when we believe that God is holy, loving, and just, and that His commands lead to human flourishing. Obedience is not short-sighted—it is long-sighted faith in the One who controls what we cannot see.

As wisdom grows, it produces moral insight—the ability to see clearly what others miss. This discernment helps believers know when to speak, when to stay silent, when to be firm, and when to extend grace. In a confusing and reactive culture, moral insight allows followers of Jesus to walk with clarity instead of regret.

The message closes with a powerful reminder that God uses lives of faithful obedience over time to shine light into others’ hearts. When believers choose wisdom over drama, faithfulness over noise, and obedience over convenience, Christ’s light becomes visible—and God is glorified.

    Fruit in the Final Days
Preached by Pastor Billy Coker | January 11, 2026

In this message from 1 John 2, Pastor Billy Coker delivers a clear and urgent call to abide in Christ as the defining mark of faithful believers in the final days. Writing late in life, the Apostle John warns that while the world and its desires are passing away, those who remain in God will endure and bear lasting fruit.

Pastor Billy highlights how Scripture consistently pairs God’s commands with His promises. We are commanded not to love the world, and we are promised eternal life when we do the will of God. Between the command and the promise, believers face a wilderness—battling the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life. These distractions slowly pull hearts away from eternal things if they are not confronted.

John also warns of another danger in the final hour: false teachers and antichrist spirits that use spiritual language to deceive. They may look and sound convincing, but they deny Christ by shifting focus away from truth, obedience, and spiritual fruit. Many fail late in their walk not because they lacked zeal, but because they stopped abiding.

Yet the message is full of hope. Believers have already been given everything they need. The Holy Spirit abides within us—teaching, convicting, empowering, and anchoring us in truth. We do not need new revelations or experiences; we are called to hold fast to what we received from the beginning. When we abide in Christ, our lives bear fruit that brings glory to God and leads us to the promise of eternal life.

Jesus reminds us that apart from Him we can do nothing, but those who remain in Him will bear much fruit. In every season of life, the call remains the same: abide, hold fast, and depend daily on the work of the Holy Spirit.

    Weekly Prayer Points

As you reflect on this message, let these prayers guide your week:

    • Lord, help me abide in You daily and not be distracted by the desires of this world.

    • Holy Spirit, expose and uproot anything in my heart that competes with my devotion to Christ.

    • Give me discernment to recognize false teaching and the courage to hold fast to Your truth.

    • Strengthen me to bear lasting fruit that glorifies You in every area of my life.

    • Keep me faithful in the final hour, rooted in repentance, humility, and trust in You.

    Full Send Faith
Preached by Pastor Michael Petillo on January 4, 2026

What does real faith look like as we step into a new year? In the first Springs Church gathering of 2026, Pastor Michael Petillo delivers a bold and challenging message from Luke 14:25–27, calling believers to a “full send” kind of faith—one that refuses half-commitment and embraces true discipleship.

Jesus makes it clear that following Him is not about adding God to our plans, but surrendering every agenda entirely. Discipleship disrupts the normal expectations of life, calling us to come to Jesus not for what He can give us, but for who He is. He is not a tool to achieve our dreams—He is the treasure Himself.

Pastor Michael unpacks Jesus’ startling words about “hating” even our closest relationships, showing that Christ is calling for a love so deep and real that every other love pales in comparison. This is not about emotional hype or religious routine, but an intimate, lived-out love that outshines family love, friendship, ambition, and even self-preservation.

Finally, the message points us to the only place this kind of faith and love can be found: the cross. By picking up the cross daily—remembering that Christ loved, forgave, and moved toward us first—we find the courage to surrender fully, trust God completely, and follow Jesus without reserve.

As the year begins, Full Send Faith invites every listener to examine their commitment and step into a discipleship marked by total surrender, deep affection for Christ, and confidence rooted in His preventing love.

Which Tree Are You Eating From?
Elder Tim Coen on December 28, 2025

In this deeply reflective message, Elder Tim Coen invites listeners to examine a foundational question of faith: Which tree are you eating from—the tree of life, or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Drawing from Genesis 1–3, he unpacks God’s original design for humanity, the purpose of real choice, and how distrust and self-reliance fractured our relationship with the only true source of life.

Through vivid storytelling, honest theology, and a memorable illustration involving a microwave, a seven button, and a fire, this sermon explores why sin is far more than surface-level behavior—it is a deep corruption that cannot be fixed with minor adjustments. What sounds like a curse (“you will surely die”) is revealed as a promise rooted in God’s relentless love and determination to save us from destruction, even at great cost to Himself.

Elder Tim walks listeners through the reality of living in a world where good and evil are intertwined, why death became necessary, and how Jesus entered fully into our brokenness to break the power of sin and death once and for all. The tree of life, once lost, is now revealed through the cross—an invitation to trust God fully, die to self, and find true, resurrected life in Christ.

This message calls believers to move beyond survival-faith and flesh-driven prayers, fixing their eyes on Jesus and choosing daily to eat from the tree of life. Filled with hope, honesty, and gospel clarity, Which Tree Are You Eating From?challenges listeners to trust God more than themselves and to follow Jesus on the path that leads to eternal life.

    Hope Is Born
    Pastor Michael Petillo — December 21, 2025

What is it about Christmas that makes people believe things can change—that light can break into darkness and hope can be born? In Hope Is Born, Pastor Michael Petillo walks through Luke 2 and reminds us that Christmas only makes sense when we understand the problem it came to solve.

The Bible is honest about the human condition: apart from Christ, we are trying to live life without God at the center. Whether religious or irreligious, humanity resists surrender and insists on being in control—an impossible role that leaves us overwhelmed with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future. The weight of being our own master is more than we were ever meant to carry.

Into that fear-filled reality, heaven breaks in with good news. The angel tells the shepherds, “Do not be afraid,” and points them to the sign: a Savior born as a baby, wrapped in cloths, lying in a manger. God did not come in power to destroy, but in humility to save. The Creator of all things stepped into weakness, mess, and obscurity to make Himself approachable—and to make a way to dwell within us.

Jesus entering the world in a manger declares that God is not ashamed of our brokenness. He is willing to step into our mess, carry what we cannot, and bring His peace, strength, and hope into our lives. True peace doesn’t come from controlling life—it comes from surrendering to the One who entered it.

Like Mary, we are invited not just to hear this story, but to ponder it. Hope is still being born today—in listening hearts, in thoughtful hearts, and in those willing to slow down and receive what God is saying. Christmas reminds us that God has come near, and because of Jesus, hope is no longer distant—it is here.

The Names You Can’t Pronounce That God Will Never Forget
    Pastor Michael Petillo | December 14, 2025

Nehemiah 11 is often treated as a “skip chapter”—a long list of hard-to-pronounce names that feels easy to overlook. But in this message, Pastor Michael Petillo reveals how this forgotten chapter unveils a profound truth about the heart of God: He records names, remembers people, and treasures those who willingly say yes to Him.

As the people of Israel resettled Jerusalem, God didn’t ask for a tithe of money or possessions, but a tithe of people. Volunteers chose to uproot their lives, accept vulnerability, and live closer to the presence of God, knowing it would cost them comfort, security, and familiarity. Scripture tells us God took note of these individuals, writing their names in a book of remembrance—not because of their fame or strength, but because of their willing obedience.

Drawing from Malachi, Romans 12, and personal testimony, this sermon reminds us that God longs for a people who trust Him deeply—so deeply that obedience flows freely, not from fear or pressure, but from love. Those who offer their lives as living sacrifices become God’s “special treasure.”

Pastor Michael walks through the process God uses to shape this kind of surrendered life: exposure, refining, and release. As God exposes our weaknesses, refines us through difficult choices, and separates compromise from wholehearted devotion, He patiently forms a faith that trusts Him completely.

This message is a powerful invitation to believe that God sees every act of voluntary surrender, remembers every faithful yes, and never forgets the names the world may overlook—but heaven records forever.

“Hard Hats, Holy Habits, and Hecklers”

Preached by Pastor Michael Petillo — December 7, 2025

In this week’s message, Pastor Michael continues through the book of Nehemiah, landing in chapter 4—where rebuilding the walls becomes a vivid picture of what it means to follow God today. His central theme: “When you start building, you will soon be battling—so be prepared.”

Pastor Michael explains that whenever we set our hearts to rebuild anything for God’s glory—marriage, integrity, ministry, habits, purity—opposition shows up quickly. Nehemiah faced ridicule, the enemy’s first tactic. Sanballat and Tobiah mocked the workers, calling them “feeble” and attacking the value of the work itself, insisting the wall was so weak a fox could knock it down.

He connects this to the way the enemy speaks to us today: pointing out our weaknesses, flooding us with lies, using people close to us—or our own inner thoughts—to wear us down and tempt us to quit.

Nehemiah’s response becomes the blueprint: he prayed AND he posted a guard. He trusted God completely while taking practical responsibility.  Pastor Michael highlights how Scripture consistently holds these truths together—God’s sovereignty and our responsibility—using Paul’s storm in Acts 27 as an example: God promised safety, but Paul still insisted everyone stay in the boat.

The message ends with three practical areas where believers must “pray and post a guard”:
    • Raising the next generation—praying for our kids while actively discipling them.
    • Restoring purity in the house of God—not just praying but having real conversations, fighting for our youth instead of leaving them to battle alone.
    • Walking in freedom through accountability—because some giants fall only when others stand beside us.

Pastor Michael encourages listeners to keep building, stay prayerful, resist the hecklers, and trust that God is both sovereign and powerfully at work through our obedience.

     Proximity Before Mission

On Missions Sunday, Pastor Patrick Dow reminded the church that mission starts with closeness to Jesus. Before God sends us out, He calls us near. Patrick shared from his work with Nicky Cruz Outreach that real ministry flows from intimacy, not activity—when we stay close to Christ, His heart naturally leads us to the people He wants us to reach.

“Pass the Salt, and Keep It Coming”

    Pastor Michael Petillo — November 23, 2025

This message begins with a surprising detail in Ezra 7: King Artaxerxes gives Israel limited amounts of gold, silver, wheat, wine, and oil—but unlimited salt. Salt symbolized life, and Pastor Michael shows how this points to God’s desire for His people to overflow with His life through the Holy Spirit.

Jesus calls believers to be “seasoned with salt” and to have “rivers of living water” flowing from within. Pastor Michael challenges us to ask honestly: Does that describe my walk with God? Scripture says this abundant life should be normal for every Christian.

Ephesians 5 teaches that God’s will is for us to be continually filled—daily controlled—by the Holy Spirit. When we are filled, three things become visible: joy, thanksgiving, and a heart that serves others.

Pastor Michael ends with three ways we yield control to the Holy Spirit:

Sacrifice — letting Him lead you to give time, money, comfort, or plans for His kingdom.
Conviction — saying yes when He says no, submitting to Scripture even when culture disagrees.
Faith — trusting that God is good, which empowers real obedience.

The call of the message is simple: keep receiving the “salt” of the Spirit—God’s unlimited life—so it overflows to everyone around you.

    Weekly Prayer Points:

Pray for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit each day, asking God to let His life overflow from your heart.

Pray for the joy of the Lord to steady your emotions and set the spiritual temperature of your home and relationships.

Pray for a grateful heart that speaks words of thanksgiving instead of complaint, especially toward the people closest to you.

Pray for a humble, serving spirit that looks for ways to build others up and meet needs in the church and community.

Pray for the courage to obey the Holy Spirit in sacrifice, conviction, and faith—trusting that God is always good.

“Cravings, Cucumbers and the Collapse of a Soul”

    Pastor Michael Petillo — November 16, 2025

Pastor Michael paused the Nehemiah series to address a central truth: sin is not just something we do—it is a power that weakens the soul. In Numbers 11, Israel’s craving for Egypt’s food shows how sin dulls our emotions, clouds our thinking, and drains our ability to choose what’s right. Like an addiction, it promises satisfaction but only leaves the heart numb and wanting more. Their distorted memory of Egypt—calling slavery “free food”—reveals how sin destroys reason and blinds us to reality. And when Scripture says their “whole being dried up,” it shows how sin erodes the will itself, making obedience feel impossible.

The deeper issue, Pastor Michael explained, wasn’t meat—it was that Israel had lost its appetite for God. When God is no longer the delight of the heart, lesser cravings take control. Freedom doesn’t come through trying harder or beating ourselves up, but by tasting God—engaging with Him in worship, reflection, and deeper time in His word. Real intimacy with God grows the same way any relationship does: through consistent, meaningful time that softens the heart and stirs true desire. As our appetite for God returns, the power of sin loses its grip.

As we reflect on this week’s message, here are a few simple prayer points to help guide your time with God—focused on renewing our appetite for Him and breaking the pull of lesser cravings:

    1. “Lord, restore my desire for You above every other craving.”
    2. “Break the power of any sin that is dulling my emotions or clouding my mind.”
    3. “Help me see clearly and remember Your goodness instead of longing for what once enslaved me.”
    4. “Strengthen my will to follow You and choose what honors You.”
