This week, working off of last week's episode on St. Ambrose on the Sacraments, we look at how the sacramental theology of St. Ambrose's predecessors as bishops, Saints Athanasius and Hilary, framed their responses to the interference of the Empire in the life of the Church. This sets the stage for next week's episode on St. Ambrose and Theodosius the Great.
