St. Hildegard von Bingen is one of the most beloved and interesting saints, mystics and doctors of the church.

One of her most well known concepts, and to me, one of the most mystical, is her concept of viriditas or “greening”. Here she describes a life force present in us that connects us all, that comes straight from God.

St. Hildegard von Bingen is one of the most beloved Catholic saints. It's easy to see why. She's a mystic, a musician, a prophet, an herbalist and more. She's also a Doctor of the Church, which gives added credence to her visions.

In this episode we will share stories from her life, then jump into her biography, her mysticism and more. Next week, we will get into some of her key concepts and how we can incorporate them into our own spirituality.

St. Ignatius is one of the best known saints, though largely for being the founder of the Jesuit Order. However, Ignatius was also a very notable mystic, which is most prevalently seen in his Spiritual Exercises.

Did you know we are all called to be cosmic priests?

In our first nature mysticism episode we discuss a unique, yet orthodox, concept in Christianity called the Cosmic Priesthood. We discuss this terminology, it's roots in saints such as Bonaventure and Maximus, as well as it's modern use by popes such as Pope Benedict XVI.

This unique concept allows us to see all of creation and all of nature with new eyes.
