Announced at Open Source Summit in September, StackPoint Cloud is now offering management services for Istio, a service mesh developed by Google, IBM and Lyft. On this episode of The New Stack Makers, StackPointCloud Founder & CEO Matt Baldwin speaks with TNS Founder Alex Williams about the announcement.

Istio is comprised of multiple components, comprised of the Istio proxy, Mixer, Pilot, Auth, and the Spiffe project. 

Spiffe.io is a verifying service identity used inside of Istio to handle Auth for service identity verification. As Istio's popularity grows, its focus on observability in a microservice environment continues to attract the attention of developers.
