  • Quiet Mini-camp, Carl Nassib Comes Out & Players to Look Out for This Season
Jimmy, Vic & Ted are back for an offseason episode of SOTN and they talk about Raiders training camp, Carl Nassib coming out & players that could have breakout seasons. Not much to see for the media at training camp. One big note from Jon Gruden was that Henry Ruggs looked much better then he did last season and to expect some big things from him. Carl Nassib on Monday came out as gay and is the first openly gay player playing in the NFL. Took him 15 years to fight with this decision and hopefully it will lead to more players feeling ok with coming out to the public. Damon Arnette looks to have lost his starting spot from some of the top during mini-camp. The team seems very excited from what they have seen so far from Yannick Ngakoue. And the guys take some questions from the listeners.

  • Recapping the Raiders 2021 Draft
Jimmy, Vic, Tashan and Ted are ready to recap the Las Vegas Raiders 2021 Draft. After taking Alex Leatherwood in Round 1, the Raiders drafted a player that a lot of the experts thought was a steal for the Silver & Black. They traded up with the 49ers and drafted S Trevon Moehrig and hope to slot him in as a starter day 1. The guys break down the rest of the Raiders draft picks and if they think any of the draftees can come in immediately and make an impact.

  • Raiders surprise with their pick of OT Alex Leatherwood at #17 in Round 1
The guys are here and ready to break down the Raiders surprising everyone and taking OT Alex Leatherwood at #17 in Round 1 of the NFL Draft. In the eyes of a lot of the experts, the Raiders made a huge reach with this pick, but the Raiders think they found their guy. Leatherwood's technique is the biggest thing that people are concerned about. He was Tom Cable's favorite guy in the Draft, so they went with Cable's gut feeling on him. The guys talk about the rumor of Aaron Rodgers wanting out of Green Bay and the Raiders maybe being one of the team's interested. They discuss what a possible trade would look like and how Derek Carr would fit into it. And they break down what they think the Raiders should do in Rounds 2 & 3 and if safety is at the top of their wish list.

  • Raiders Draft Options & Reactions to a Tweet from Mark Davis
The guys are back to talk about the upcoming NFL Draft and what they think the Raiders should do with pick #17. The guys give their thoughts about a tweet from Mark Davis on the Raiders Twitter on Tuesday. The guys think there was no context to the tweet and there was a great chance of it being taken the wrong way. They also thought that not deleting it was a very questionable decision. On to the next week's Draft where the Raiders pick 17th in the 1st round. What are the Raiders biggest needs? The guys discuss if its they should draft for need or the best player available. They throw out some late round sleepers and they give their predictions for who they think the Raiders will take with their 1st round pick

  • Did the Raiders overpay on some of their latest moves?
Jimmy, Vic, Tashan and Ted are back to talk about some of the recent Raiders moves that have raised some eyebrows. The Raiders signed Kolton Miller to an extension and they guys talk about it if they overpaid for a guy that might not be a top 5 player at his position. The Raiders also signed running back Kenyan Drake to a 2 year deal. The first year is pretty low money, but the second year is pretty high if he stays on the team or they cut him. The guys discuss if the Drake signing was a mistake with the big second year of the deal. They talk about what's going on in the secondary & safety spots with the Raiders and if they would be better off signing someone or looking in the draft. And they take some questions...

  • Raiders make some moves before NFL Free Agency begins
The boys are back and there is a lot of Raiders news to talk about heading into Free Agency next week. The Raiders earlier this week traded Trent Brown to the Patriots. The guys discuss if they think the Raiders might the right move dealing Trent. The o-line has a few more holes after a few more guys getting cut, but some might be brought back. Could Rodney Hudson be the next to go? The Raiders could have up to $45 million dollars available in cap space heading into Free Agency and the guys discuss what are the biggest needs and who are some possible targets for the Silver and Black. The pass rush, secondary and o-line seem like the biggest spots that need to be filled. They discuss if they think WR Nelson Agholor will re-sign with the Raiders. And they take some questions from listeners...

  • Are the Raiders interested in trading Derek Carr?
Jimmy, Vic, Tashan and Ted have a lot of things to talk about in this Super Bowl edition of State Of The Nation. Vic's story about Nelson Agholor's speech after the loss to Miami came out. Very telling that a newcomer to the team had to be the one to say something after the team was in the middle of another second half collapse. Do they need to do something to change the locker room culture and is there anyone on the team that should step up to take that the leadership role? They talk about the rumors of the Raiders trading Derek Carr and acquiring Deshaun Watson. Carr has a team friendly deal and they debate about what another team might be willing to give up for DC. They think if the option to get Watson is out there, you have to do whatever you can to get him. They preview the upcoming ESPN 30 for 30 "Al Davis vs the NFL" and talk about what they liked and didn't like about it. They talk about if the Raiders have any interest in Richard Sherman and who would be the most impactful free agent defensive signing they could make this offseason. And the guys give their Super Bowl predictions.

  • Raiders hire Gus Bradley to be their new Defensive Coordinator
Jimmy, Vic, Tashan and Ted discuss the Raiders hiring Gus Bradley to be their new Defensive Coordinator. Bradley is a huge Gruden guy. He was given his first NFL job by Gruden back in Tampa Bay. The guys are concerned that the Cover 3 defense that Bradley runs is not a great fit with the Raiders cause of the talent they have to rush the passer. The Raiders will need to sign a big name pass rusher or make a deal or find a stud in the draft. There are a lot of what ifs with running that scheme with the roster that they have. They talk about how Gus Bradley's system can hopefully get Cory Littleton back to his Rams form when he was a Pro Bowler. The guys also answer some questions and give some picks for this weekend's Divisional Round Playoff games.
