When we’ve been rushing and running late for many years, we see this as part of our identity - just WHO we are.

But this is not who we are, it’s how our nervous system is responding to a perceived danger or threat, and we can help ourselves by bringing ourselves back to a feeling of safety.

We were taught as kids to hand our authority over to others - someone else always knew best.

So it’s no surprise that you still tend to do that now - after all it’s what is known and safe.

But it didn’t feel good in your body when you did that as a kid, and it definitely doesn’t feel good now.

You can learn to trust what your body is telling you about what’s right for you - and that starts with slowing down enough to listen to it.
