Episode 254 - Brett Taylor, Wild East Brewing
Happy Monday, Thieves! NYC Beer Week is in full swing and we’ve got one of the city’s newest brewers on the show today. Brett Taylor is one of the co-founders and brewers at Brooklyn’s Wild East Brewing, slated to open any day now in the borough’s Gowanus section, mere blocks from Threes, Strong Rope, Other Half, and Folksbier. Wild East is already crafting yeast-driven beers out of their brewery so be sure to look for them on draft around the city. Tune in and head what Brett has to say about the process and starting a brewery in one of the most expensive cities in American. Get at us and let us know what you think!

Episode 253 - Dan Lamonaca, Beer Karma
Happy Presidents Day Monday, Thieves! We have our friend Dan Lamonaca from Brooklyn’s Beer Karma bar and bottle shop joining us today. Dan’s an old pal who we’ve known for several years. He’s a frequent listener to the show, and we were happy to invite him on as a guest. He even asked to go in on one of the blind tastings, so Justin brought a bottle for Dan and Augie to dive into (Holl is absent yet again this week!). Tune in and let us know what you think!

Episode 251 - Ann Reilly, Executive Director NYC Brewers Guild
Happy Monday, Thieves! We’re talking to Ann Reilly, Executive Director of the NYC Brewers Guild, today about the upcoming festivities that are NYC Beer Week. We wanted to know how the week has evolved over the last several years, from a time when you could count on one hand the number of breweries in the city to today when we have dozens upon dozens of breweries dotted throughout all five boroughs. This year’s Beer Week starts February 22 with the annual Opening Bash and goes through the following week. Tune in and let us know what you think!

Episode 250 - Mary Izett, Fifth Hammer Brewing
Happy Monday, Thieves! There's a lot of things to love about Mary Izett. As a long time homebrewer, writer, and podcast host (plus one heck of a knitter), every time we get to hang out with Mary we learn something new. This week she joins us at Treadwell Park and we go deep into the mechanics of Fifth Hammer, the brewery she runs with husband Chris Cuzme. More than just flavors and styles, Mary opens up about what it takes to run a small business: the good, bad, and underbelly. For the black glass she brought some beers that inspire her these days. We weren't disappointed. Tune in and let us know what you think!

Episode 248 - News and Letters with Anne Becerra, Treadwell Park
Happy Monday, Thieves! We're back in the comfort of Treadwell Park and tackling some of the news and doings in and around beer. To help us along we invited Anne Becerra to sit in and weigh in with some expert opinion. She also helped us out by bringing along some beer (?) for us to taste blind in the black glasses. It got interesting real quick. Tune in and let us know what you think!

Episode 247 - Evan Watson and Augie Play Hot Ones
Happy Monday, Thieves! We're starting off the New Year with an episode we've been holding on to for a while. Back in November we gathered at Augie's brewery for a show with Evan Watson of Plan Bee. It was just around Augie's Birthday so we wanted to do something special and even torture him a bit. So, Dr. Watson cooked up some hot wings and we decided to do what that other hot sauce show does. It got ugly real fast, especially for Holl and most certainly for Jeff Cioletti, who gamely sat in on the show.
Just like you can play at home with your own black glasses, we hope you'll resolve this year to punish your tastebuds and nervous system with some extreme hot sauces. It's best with friends and mugs of cold beer.
Let us know what you think by chiming in on our social media pages or simply by emailing us at [email protected]

Episode 246 - Holiday Show 2019 with Joel Shelton, Shelton Brothers
Happy final Monday of 2019, Thieves! A couple years ago, we did a holiday show with Joel Shelton of Shelton Brothers importers over at Wurstbar in Jersey City. We had fond memories of that night, so we decided to invite Joel back to do it again in 2019, this time at Clinton Hall in lower Manhattan. We had a fun time recapping 2019 and hope you enjoy the conversation. Get at us and let us know what you think!

Episode 245 - Em Sauter, Pints & Panels, is back
As we start to close out another year and a decade we wanted to sit down with Em Sauter, the editor and creator of Pints and Panels to talk about how beer has evolved over the last ten years. We also talk about her taking the Master Cicerone test and the role of beer education.
We're posted up this week at Clinton Hall because Treadwell was closed for popcorn machine repairs. Thanks to them for hosting. Tune in and let us know what you think!
