    On this episode of Stock Movers:

    - Rocket Lab shares fell after it signaled a potential new delay with its Neutron rocket, raising the prospect that the vehicle won’t fly until 2027. The company stopped short of saying that the Neutron vehicle would fly this year, citing "risk and uncertainty remains in the complex development cycle". Rocket Lab reported record quarterly revenue but a loss that was a penny worse than Wall Street forecasted, with shares falling about 2% in US postmarket trading.

    - Hims & Hers (HIMS) shares are down 2.9% after the telehealth firm reduced the top end of its adjusted Ebitda forecast for the full year.

    - Nvidia (NVDA) announced partnerships with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR to establish independent compute financing platforms mobilizing over $500b of third-party capital for AI infrastructure buildout

    - MarineMax (HZO) shares surge as much as 46%, the most intraday since November 2008, after agreeing to be acquired by Safe Harbor Marinas, a Blackstone Infrastructure portfolio company, for $53.00 per share in an all-cash deal, and representing an enterprise value of approximately $1.5 billion.

    - Archer (ACHR) rises as much as 23%, the most since May 2025 after Boeing announced it will sell several units to Archer Aviation Inc., including Wisk, SkyGrid and Insitu, which specialize in developing technologies for flying taxis and drones. As part of the deal, Boeing will take an almost 20% stake in Archer and enter into a technology-sharing arrangement to retain access to the Wisk core autonomous flight technology.

    - Apple (AAPL) was downgraded to an underperform rating at Jefferies due to concerns about the outlook for the company's iPhone. Analyst Edison Lee wrote that introducing new form factors in the iPhone to drive higher average selling prices is more difficult than expected, citing the cancellation of the 20th anniversary all-glass iPhone model. The consensus recommendation for Apple stands at 3.88 out of five, the lowest since 2019, with fewer than 60% of analysts recommending buying the stock.

    - Berkshire Hathaway’s (BRK/A/B) shares rise as much as 3%, to the highest intraday since May 2025, after the conglomerate said it spent about $4.5 billion to buy back its own stock in the second quarter. Gains in the manufacturing, service and retailing division also helped lift operating earnings over the period.

    - Monday.com (MNDY) shares are down 8.2% after the software company gave a third-quarter revenue forecast that is weaker than expected.

    - Tenax Therapeutics (TENX) shares plummet 89% after the pharmaceutical company reported that TNX-103 (oral levosimendan) failed to meet its primary endpoint of improving 6-minute walk distance versus placebo in the Phase 3 LEVEL trial in PH-HFpEF patients.

  • Intel Drops, EBay Falls, and Akamai Up After Positive Earnings

    On this episode of Stock Movers:

    - Intel (INTC) shares drop. Intel said it will be offering $15 billion in common stock, taking advantage of renewed interest in its business prospects during the artificial intelligence data center boom. The money will be used for general corporate purposes, Intel said in a statement on Monday. 

    -  EBay (EBay) shares drop. GameStop Corp. is considering withdrawing its $56 billion bid for eBay Inc. and may propose a partnership or joint venture instead. A partnership could enable eBay to leverage GameStop's US retail locations and increase market share in categories such as trading cards and collectibles.

    - Akamai Technologies Inc. shares rise.  Susquehanna Financial cut the target on Akamai Technologies Inc. to $140 from $175 but maintained a positive rating. Akamai reported earnings and sales that topped estimates for the quarter on Aug. 6.

  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise Rises, Intel Drops, Barrick Mining Falls Most Since March as Newmont Deal Value Disappoints

    On this episode of Stock Movers:

    - Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) shares rise. Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring raised the recommendation on Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. to overweight from equal-weight. Investors who followed Woodring's recommendation received a 5.2% return in the past year, compared with a 166% return on the shares.

    - Intel (INTC) shares drop. Intel said it will be offering $15 billion in common stock, taking advantage of renewed interest in its business prospects during the artificial intelligence data center boom. The money will be used for general corporate purposes, Intel said in a statement on Monday. 

    - Barrick Mining (B) shares drop. Investors were disappointed by the value of a deal with Newmont Corp. for a stake in a Nevada gold project. Newmont will pay Barrick $1.95 billion as the companies contribute previously excluded properties to the venture, including Barrick's Fourmile project.

    - Berkshire Hathaway (BRK) share are up after earnings this weekend. Berkshire Hathaway spent about $4.5 billion to buy back its own shares in the second quarter and purchased nearly $20 billion of equities in the period, signs that Chief Executive Officer Greg Abel is putting more of the firm’s cash pile to work. Operating earnings climbed 16% in the three months through June to nearly $13 billion, driven in part by gains in the conglomerate’s manufacturing, service and retailing division, as well as at its utilities business.
    - TSMC (TSM) shares are higher after it reported a 45% rise in its monthly sales, a sign of sustained demand for AI hardware in the face of market volatility.
    - Verisk (VRSK) shares are lower after a Delaware Chancery Court judge ruled that Verisk Analytics Inc. must consummate a $2.35 billion merger with AccuLynx.com, rejecting Verisk's efforts to spike the deal over antitrust clearance issues. The judge stated that Verisk's "willful conduct" caused the failure of a condition to closing and ordered specific performance, also saying AccuLynx is entitled to damages for direct costs, plus interest.
