    - Figma (FIG) Chief Executive Officer Dylan Field forfeited about $46 million in company stock awards to revive investor confidence in the face of AI disruption fears. The forfeiture was voluntary and no replacement awards were issued, with Field set to receive about 2.4 million shares of Class B stock on July 1. Figma's stock price has declined about 77% from its high of $122 just after Figma's initial public offering more than a year ago

    - Hertz (HTZ) shares jump as much as 40% Thursday. The stock is on pace for its biggest single-day rally since November

    - Airbnb (ABNB) boosted its annual revenue forecast after seeing robust global travel demand, particularly in the US and Europe. The company now sees annual revenue growth improving by a percentage of “at least mid teens” and boosted its full-year margin forecast for adjusted earnings. Airbnb’s optimistic outlook suggests that travel demand remains healthy, with overall nights and seats booked jumping 10% to 148.3 million in the second quarter.

    - Lyft (LYFT) posted second-quarter bookings that beat expectations, citing growing demand for premium rides and strength in the European business it acquired last year. Gross bookings totaled $5.5 billion for the three months ended June 30, up 23% from a year earlier, and topped the $5.37 billion average of analyst estimates. Lyft expects the momentum to continue for the rest of the year, projecting that North American rideshare volume will grow at a faster clip in the second half of the year than in the first.

    Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market.

    - Sandisk (SNDK)’s high flying stock tumbled back to Earth last month. And after earnings, its stock continued to trade lower. The computer hardware company’s revenue forecast for the first quarter missed the average analyst estimate. Analysts note that the current quarter outlook was soft but they are positive about the business transitioning to a more durable operation.

    - Datadog (DDOG) is falling after the software company posted an adjusted gross margin for the second quarter that trailed the average analyst estimate.

    - Honeywell Aerospace (HONA) shares plunged after an unexpected reduction in its outlook startled investors just weeks after the supplier began operating as an independent company. Supply chain issues will keep sales growth to 4-5% this year on an organic basis, roughly half of its prior forecast. Honeywell Aerospace also now says adjusted earnings before interest and taxes may not increase at all this year on a pro forma basis; it previously saw as much as 10% growth.

  • Celsius Slumps, SoundHound Soars, MetLife Jumps on Underwriting, Volume Growth

    -Celsius Holdings Inc. (CELH) shares tumbled after the energy drink maker’s second-quarter revenue missed expectations as competition hurt sales of its namesake brand. The company’s revenue grew 11% to $817.9 million from a year earlier, missing the $872.6 million average estimate, and revenue for the Celsius line fell 12%.


    -SoundHound (SOUN) shares soar after the software company reported better-than-expected second-quarter revenue. D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria says the company “reported a strong quarter delivering revenue well ahead of expectations.”


    -MetLife (MET) shares jump after second-quarter earnings surpassed Wall Street’s expectations. They were boosted by strong underwriting, volume growth and the success of a five-year plan outlined in late 2024. Adjusted earnings per share climbed about 20% to $2.43 from a year ago, exceeding the $2.30 average estimate of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. Net investment income rose 18% to $6.7 billion, MetLife said in a statement Wednesday.

  • Moderna Drops, DoorDash Rises, Honeywell Plunges as Surprise Guidance Cut Alarms Wall Street

    On this episode of Stock Movers:

    - Moderna (MRNA) shares drop. Moderna Inc. won US regulatory approval for a flu vaccine based on mRNA technology, called mFlusiva, for adults aged 50 and over. The immunization received a traditional approval for patients between the ages of 50 and 64, and an accelerated approval for those 65 and older. A post-marketing clinical trial will be required to confirm the vaccine’s benefit in people 65 and over, and supply is expected to be available in select retailers in the coming weeks.


    - DoorDash (DASH) shares rise. DoorDash issued a profit forecast that topped analysts’ expectations, citing a boom in paying subscribers who tend to order takeout and groceries more frequently than non-members. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization will be $950 million to $1.1 billion in the quarter ending in September, with the midpoint of that range well above the average Bloomberg-compiled analyst estimate.


    - Honeywell Aerospace Inc. (HONA) shares plunged after an unexpected reduction in its outlook startled investors. Supply chain issues will keep sales growth to 4-5% this year on an organic basis, roughly half of its prior forecast. Honeywell Aerospace also now says adjusted earnings before interest and taxes may not increase at all this year on a pro forma basis; it previously saw as much as 10% growth.
