Wayne McCurrie from FNB Wealth & Investments chose SA Government Bonds as his stock pick of the day and David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities chose Nvidia Corp.

McCurrie said: "It's Government Bonds, it's getting a good yield and I still hope that the future is better than the past in South Africa. If that is the case you'll make a half decent return out of this, it's relatively safe and we're not likely to default on our bonds in the medium term."

Shapiro said: "My pick is Nvidia which is a semiconductor, I think that they were hurt with Bitcoin when the mining stopped as they were well placed for development with them, but it's a wonderful company and they make the right kind of semiconductor that you need for gaming and for all the developments that we going to see; autonomous driving included. So there's an upside in this one and I'm getting very bullish on what we're going to see next year in tech space."
