For the 57th episode of the Healthcare IT Podcast, we’re talking about information blocking. No doubt the healthcare industry knows that the 21st Century Cures Act includes a number of provisions and requirements around information blocking or more aptly said requirements to share data and not block patients from access to that data. Information blocking enforcement was delayed until April 5, 2021, but that deadline is approaching very quickly and I see no signs from ONC of more delays.

In this episode, we dive into the topic of information blocking including why it’s so controversial. Plus, we talk about the impact the information blocking regulation is going to have on the health IT industry and how we think organizations are responding to it.
