A tale that starts off with a misdirection, a bear definitely overstays it’s welcome, strange poems, and even stranger tales of a detective who betrays an old woman. Mates, this whole episode is wacky and strange – not over the top, but just has bizarre stories. I bring you tales from Cobwebs of an Empty Skull by Dod Grile published in 1874.

I have to say this guy writes ahead of his time, and pokes fun at his audience and the norms of the time. I totally stumbled across him, and his wit, choice of words, and blatant disregard for what their audience wants or expects in a story. So, let me know what you think, if you want more from this author, there is something charming about the writing – also bare in mind it has terminology that may offend, so my apologies but it’s nothing we can’t handle I think. Also, a big shout out to Andrew Beneze my latest Earl Gray Enforcer.

Thank you so much mate, you reached out to me just now on where to find the Patreon and boom, he’s now an Earl Gray Enforcer. Cheers mate and I look forward to your story. If you want to support the show, visit www.patreon/sfgt.com and you’ll find me.

Stories Fables Ghostly Tales: Why are Mirrors Creepy and Three Mirror Rituals

Topic: #Mirrors #Rituals #Storytelling #Fiction #Podcast

Welcome listeners to your episode all about mirrors. I started off last episode by sharing the Three Kings ritual, which sees the participant sitting in front of mirrors and enduring an unknown fate, with the mirrors showing them a variety of different narratives, experiences, good and bad, and in one case a fight within themselves, battling their thoughts to pick their path that will affect their future.

I moved into the Caputo strange-face apparition experiment and discussed how 100% of the participants witnessed their face changing when staring into mirrors under low light conditions. These visual hallucinations took place as quick as 1 minute into what is called mirror gazing. So what now? Well, today I’m going to discuss what makes mirrors so mysterious, strange, and unique, then, I’m going to move onto more ritual stories, all of which relate to mirrors.

Welcome listeners, today I’m going to be discussing the Three Kings Ritual. A ritual that means something different to every person that performs it, and always leaves people feeling different after finishing it, so today the topic is rituals, real accounts by those that completed them, and mirror gazing.

This Three King Ritual has a strong psychological component to it, and mirror madness as I like to call it, which I’ll get into. And when I say mirror gazing I mean turning off the lights, or having low light, and staring into a mirror for minutes – do this at your own risk. I’ll also be discussing a scientific article that discusses visual perception during mirror gazing with some interesting findings regarding those with depression and schizophrenia, plus their interactions with mirrors.

Also, a HUGE thank you to the 3 recent Patron supports that are supporting this Podcast. No joke, everyone at work, online, the people I chat to over the past three days have asked why I’ve been in such an over joyous mood – I just say, Earl Gray Enforcers. Three new Earl Gray Enforcers have joined the Podcast and I can’t wait to dedicate new episodes to them, thank you form the bottom of my heart mates.

A history teacher gets more than they bargain for from their students assignment. A terrible story resides in the Balkans, and a story I fear has one foot in reality. Welcome listeners to your terrible tale and I’m back from a week long vacation. I didn’t go anywhere just chilled at home with pals, watched a lot of films both on the couch and at the Cinema.

SHAZAM was the first movie I watched and wow just brilliant, highly recommend it, had me laughing and…feeling. Then just recently I watched Avengers Endgame, the three hour long epic. No spoilers I promise. A really enjoyable film, some strange choices, buuut all together, really good.

Also played some board games with friends, and one of the was Sherlock Holmes, ohoo that is SO much fun. Anyway, you’re hear for the story right? Well, I’m here for you, it’s great to be back folks, now, turn the lights off, the sound up, and get ready, for something creepy.

Welcome listeners to a Not Safe for Work story titled A Very Lonely Road by Jake Wick.

SFGT | Demonology and Devil Lore: Cold Demons - Winter is Coming

Welcome listeners. Today I’m going over Demonology and Demon Lore by Moncure Daniel Conway. This is a continuation of the Demons lore series that I do here, where I narrate his works, and add value where I can – or snip out content that just frankly has aged so poorly that no-one would get the references. For today’s episode the author spends more time on Winter and what Winter means to cultures, specifically how a culture draws on winter as an extreme to influence perception of demons and the devil.

Moncure does enjoy spending time on the etymology of what makes a demon what it is, and spends the first half covering off what winter is, and the mid to second half on demon references. So you love your research, love your understandings of culture’s perception of seasons in relation to Gods and demons, then you’ll enjoy this episode. So sit back, relax, and let me share some unique demon lore all the way back in from 1879.

Now, turn the lights off, the sound up, and get ready to…learn something different.
