  • Bob Baxter - Web Development
Bob Baxter graduated with Part-time Web Development Cohort Evening 9.
I’m a jack-of-all-trades: Army Veteran, English Teacher, Musician, Veteran's Rep, Screen Printer, Paralegal, etc. My diverse background has helped me learn that I’m happiest when I’m able to use both my logical and creative sides as one. Being a developer bridges that gap for me. I’ve always developed tools at work to automate tasks, collect data, and increase my productivity. I finally started connecting the dots when I realized planning and building these tools satisfied me more than the work itself. Thus, my journey as a developer began.

  • David Mullins - Web Development
David Mullins graduated with Part-time Web Development Cohort Evening 9.
My first exposure to coding was several years ago through Visual Basic; I took it upon myself to add features in a template my Department presents to audited businesses. The template is still used daily and has saved the Department of Revenue time and money. The added features allowed auditors to create the lengthy document much quicker, and I realized creating this type of efficiency, along with the long-term cost and time savings, is what I enjoy the most. Development gives me the ability to benefit a lot of people by solving problems and creating long lasting solutions efficiently.

  • Emily DeWitt - Web Development
Emily DeWitt graduated with Part-time Web Development Cohort Evening 9.
I am a full stack software developer and operations professional with eight years of experience in education and non-profit operations. I enjoy building simple and effective solutions in complex situations, whether that's organizing a team to host a multi-day event for 300 people or writing and refactoring code that will stand the tests of time. I became a software developer because I believe that innovative and user-friendly applications can radically enhance a user's experience with and impression of an organization and its mission.

  • Lwam Tekie - Web Development
Lwam Tekie graduated with Part-time Web Development Cohort Evening 9.
Previous to starting NSS, I didn't have any programing experience. What I love about web development is the challenge of forming ideas and turning them into a reality that other people can interact with. Before joining NSS, I had talked to NSS alumni who had nothing but great things to share about their learning experience, which inspired me to look into programs offered by the school. Staff and students at NSS are welcoming and encouraging.

  • Calvin Foster - Web Development
Calvin Foster graduated with Part-time Web Development Cohort Evening 9.
I first encountered the development world in 2016 as a business endeavor doing web design on Squarespace. Upon realizing the limitations of content management systems, I began to learn code to expand my skillset and immediately I was hooked. After two years of teaching myself how to code, I started working with Mambodata as freelance developer. I was exposed to new software languages that catapulted my growth as a developer, but I felt like it wasn't enough. I enrolled at Nashville Software School so that I could progress further in my software career.
