My introduction to software development was initially sparked by my band's manager, who has been a developer for 15 years. For me, the most enticing aspect of being a software engineer is that the learning is truly endless! Wearing my nerd on my sleeve here, but the problems are like games in which a developer needs to create and cast spells in order to solve. I'm always looking forward to the next challenge, and for the first time in a long time I no longer dread the end of the weekend because software engineering is just that cool!

I created him a simple pretend app using Microsoft PowerPoint to engage him in the fundamentals of phonics. Before learning how to code, I spent a combined 22 years of my professional career in real estate, banking, and state government. Today, I seek to leverage my new skillset of software development to help solve problems in the community.

I started coding in 2018 when one of my students introduced CSS and JavaScript to me. It was that moment that I fell in love with programming and knew I wanted to be a developer. My current strength is building out front-end applications. I enjoy using React, APIs, and Sass to create robust and aesthetically pleasing applications. Also, I love API development, wireframing, and working with SQL to build databases. Furthermore, I would consider myself a lifelong learner. New technologies and skills are always available. This excites me because I know that it will always be something or someone I can learn from and grow.
