Michael Bruno is an internet and real estate entrepreneur. The time he spent swimming in his youth became the breeding ground for his big ideas. He is the founder of 1stDibs, the world’s premier online marketplace for extraordinary furniture, lighting décor, art, and more. Simply put, Michael is a thought leader who helped to shape the online retail experience as we know it. After arriving in Paris, guided by his favorite business tome and with a mission to switch things up in his career, in 2001 1stDibs was launched. Bruno was able to capture the magic of the Paris flea markets… online, and then he continued to set the standard for those seeking the most beautiful things in twenty-two countries around the world. In the summer of 2019, he opened the stunningly curated Valley Rock Inn in upstate New York. Michael’s a passionate collector of historic homes and a he’s a steward of land preservation. TastemakersGuide, Bruno’s latest website venture, features a selection of over 300 small businesses in the design, art, hospitality, and natural worlds within various travel destinations. The Unassuming Powerhouse. Josie Maran is a beauty barrier breaker. In 2007 she was a pioneer of the clean beauty movement when she decided to launch her line of chic-ological skincare and cosmetics. The longtime model (a Guess? girl, a video vixen, cover star, to name a few)who started in the business at age 12 found herself in many top makeup artists’ chairs, as you would imagine, and would use that time to ask questions. Questions about products and ingredients. Her mother’s Chronic Fatigue Syndrome had the family using organic and clean products always, so it was only natural that she’d have an interest in all the products she came into contact with as a model. A born and bred seeker, Josie grew up in Northern California with a deeply creative mother and a father who was an entrepreneur. Josie always felt she was destined for big things. After a fateful party in the south of France, she went on a mission to find argan oil and build her own beauty brand. When she got a call from the Head Of Oncology at Cedars Sinai and was told that two of his patients dealing with radiation dermatitis were using her Argan Oil and he’d never seen such healing, well, she had made it. The fresh-faced blonde grew up in the mountains of Malibu and has Icelandic roots. Her mother was personally mentored by modeling industry icon Wilhelmina Cooper. Currently a size 18, Hunter is the curviest model to be featured in Sports Illustrated’s famed Swimsuit Issue, for four years and counting. Her size has changed over the years, and she embraces it. An impressive accomplishment for someone under 30, last year she released her size-inclusive line for QVC. Recently married, Hunter has worked with brands like The Knot to help dispel the common practice of a woman shedding weight for her wedding day.
