In the second half of my Rookie year, my students had improved tremendously but I felt they had stagnated, so I asked my Campus Literacy Coach–Na’Carol Dixon(nee Hall) to model a lesson. After observing her energy level and teaching approach, I realized that it’s the way that I wanted to approach ELA instruction.
