Straight Down the Middle'ish

We've been all over the place this summer, but the boys are back in a big way this week with our first ever remote pod. The PGA TOUR goes before congress, and nobody has a clue what's going on these days with the future of professional golf. The uncertainty of LIV Golf continues to swirl, and we speculate on where things are going to land with team golf.

We're planning to do more remote episodes, so we hope that you all enjoy this experiment!

Buckle up for story time as the boys reminisce the days of old, and reflect on some poor choices made back in the day.  for us and the golf world! We’re out on the road but that’s not stopping us from having another great convo about all things golf.

Buckle up sports fans, we've got a real treat this week with our very special guest, 1010 XL's  Jeff Prosser!

Prosser's been one of the biggest influences on SDTM, and we're thrilled to have him on the couch this week. He brings hot takes and a passion that's hard to match, but we're able to get a few words in for this episode.

We dive into some serious leadership lessons from Doug Pederson, Hall of Fame talk for Dale Murphy and Pete Rose, and even sprinkle in a little psychology.

We've packed this episode with so much sports talk, you'll think you're listening to ESPN or something.

Todd Demsey is the most interesting man in golf. From shaping persimmon woods by hand for Kelly Slater, to traveling the PGA TOUR in an RV, Todd has an incredible story and relationship with the game of golf.

As a 4-time All-American at Arizona State with legendary teammates like Phil Mickelson and Pat Perez, Todd won the NCAA Individual title by one shot over David Duval in 1993!

After an incredible amateur career which included a Walker Cup invite, Todd joined the PGA TOUR in 1997, and traveled the country in an RV.

Todd now makes his home in Neptune Beach, Florida, where he fashions persimmon woods for by hand for players all over the globe.

One thing's for sure, the game needs more people like Todd Demsey around.

It's our first episode back after the the PGA TOUR shocked the world and announced they will be taking on outside capital from the Saudi Public Investment Fund. There's a lot to unpack here, and we've brought in our good friend, Tyler Brown, to help shed light on where this is all heading.

After a sparkling collegiate career at the University of Florida, Tyler Brown also tried his hand at professional golf before turning to the corporate world. Tyler brings a unique perspective on the business side of golf, and how he thinks it's all going to shake out.

They called it a merger, but it feels like something completely different, and there's a lot of unanswered questions looming around the future of the PGA TOUR, LIV Golf and the concept of team golf.

Keep it down the middle-ish.

We've got an absolute beauty this week with the one and only, Tron Carter, from No Laying Up.

In this week's episode, we take a deep dive into how Tron and the No Laying Up crew create amazing golf content and how it all began.

Never one to hold back, Tron brings the heat and we're thrilled to share our little chat from the couch.

It's been a wild week in professional golf, and although this episode was taped before the LIV/PGA TOUR merger, there's still a ton of nuggets in this episode.

After a couple of weeks off from the podcasting, our crew is back in the studio to catch up. In this episode, we learn a little more about Pricey's near miss at a US Open Local Qualifier, and his travels to bucket list courses around the Northeast. Speaking of travels, our boy Matty was roaming the fairways at Oak Hill for ESPN+ during the PGA Championship. So we take a dive into his time inside the ropes following Jon Rahm, Cam Smith, Matt Fitzpatrick, Phil Mickelson, Ricky Fowler, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa and The Postman himself, JT Poston!

Solid lineup there.

We're also treated to a a little cameo at the office from the backbone of Live Forever Golf—Scott Toole!

Enjoy yourself.

It’s been a wild couple of weeks around the studio. We just moved from the Live Forever Golf garage into a new office space and we’ve been a little tied up with decorating the new digs.

This week we’ve put together a compilation episode with some of our greatest hits from this year… only the choice nugs for our listeners… and we’re pumped to share this as a filler until we get our situation organized.

On the couch today we’ve  got—Will MacKenzie, Cam Smith,  Tom Hoge, Billy Horschel, and The Mayor of Tempo Town, Chris Kirk—all here sharing their deepest darkest secrets!

Enjoy.

We’ve been kicked out of the garage, but the casting couch found a new home at Live Forever Golf HQ, and we’re thrilled to bring you our first episode from the new location!

In this episode, we chat about the USGA’s decision to alter criteria for exemption in the US Open, taxes paid overseas for LIV Golf events, and a classic prank Matty pulled on Riles.

It’s also member guest season in the south, so we recap Pricey’s recent trip to Baker’s Bay, where he almost took batting practice from Tim Wakefield.

Inspired by Talor Gooch’s recent run, we also work in a little Taylor Swift talk as well!

We hope that you enjoy the show.

We’re back on the couch this week to chat about world ranking points, LIV Golf, and little league baseball playoffs!

From the land down under, LIV Golf continues to make noise as a legitimate tour with their stop at Adelaide. However, they still receive zero points from the OWGR for the effort.

Meanwhile, our boy Spencer Levin bags his first Korn Ferry Tour win, so we share a few of our favorite Spencer stories to celebrate.

So, join Scott, Matt, and Aron for another honest and hilarious takes on the game we all love.

Joining us on the couch today is one of the the PGA TOUR's most trusted employees, and a true student of the rules of golf, Mr. Stephen Cox.

For the last 15 years, Cox has served as a rules official at the highest level in the game, and in this episode we dive-in to slow play, some of golfs unwritten rules, player fines, and a few war stories from Matt and Aron's time on tour.  In fact, Every shares a  little history with Stephen, and we get a couple of gems from their run-ins on and off the course!

While umpires and referees are sometimes the punching bags for the professionals in other sports, Stephen's role serves to protect not just the player, but the entire field of play.

Their hours are ridiculous during tournament play, and we truly respect the jobs that all officials perform for all the tours.

We really enjoyed this one, and we hope you do too!
