In the late 1800s, French physician and researcher Hippolyte Baraduc began experimenting with photography in an attempt to capture invisible forces surrounding the human body. His strange images appeared to show clouds, bursts of light, and mysterious forms that he believed represented thought, emotion, vital energy, and even the human soul. After the death of his wife in 1907, Baraduc became particularly interested in photographing what he believed might be evidence of her presence beyond death. His photographs remain some of the strangest and most unsettling images from the early days of paranormal photography.-----------------Head to asylum817.com - the official website of the host and visual artist, Billie Dean Shoemate III-----------------This podcast can also be heard on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Pandora, and wherever you get your Podcast listening experience.-----------------
