Tara Erickson & Andrew Gordon head into the Upside Down ONE LAST TIME as they react to Stranger Things Season 5 (Part 3), Episode 8 — “The Rightside Up,” the series finale of Netflix’s genre-defining sci-fi horror phenomenon created by The Duffer Brothers. After nearly a decade of monsters, mysteries, and coming-of-age trauma, the story of Hawkins reaches its emotional and mythological conclusion.

“The Rightside Up” delivers the final confrontation between the people of Hawkins and the forces threatening to erase their world forever. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown – Enola Holmes, Godzilla: King of the Monsters) faces her ultimate test as the fate of the real world, the Upside Down, and the Abyss collide. Will Byers (Noah Schnapp – Hubie Halloween, The Tutor) plays a crucial role as the truth behind his connection to the darkness comes fully into focus, while Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard – IT, Ghostbusters: Afterlife) anchors the group’s emotional core in their final stand.

The ensemble shines one last time, with Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo – Prank Encounters, Dear Evan Hansen), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin – Concrete Cowboy, High Flying Bird), and Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink – The Whale, Fear Street) each receiving defining moments that reflect how far they’ve come. The adults step into the endgame as well, led by Jim Hopper (David Harbour – Violent Night, Black Widow) and Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder – Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands), whose fight to protect their kids and their town comes full circle.
