Tara Erickson & Andrew Gordon dive into the Season 4 finale of Netflix’s Stranger Things! The sci-fi horror phenomenon created by the Duffer Brothers follows the residents of Hawkins, Indiana, as they face terrifying supernatural threats from the Upside Down. Across the seasons, the series has blended 80s nostalgia with heart-pounding action, shocking horror, and emotional character arcs.
In Episode 9, “The Piggyback,” the Hawkins crew faces their most dangerous battle yet as Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower, The Mortal Instruments, Twilight: Breaking Dawn) puts the final stage of his plan into motion. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown, Enola Holmes, Godzilla: King of the Monsters) uses her powers to attempt a psychic “piggyback” from a pizza freezer, confronting Vecna in the Mind Lair while her friends fight to stop him in Hawkins and the Upside Down. Meanwhile, Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn, Catherine the Great) delivers an unforgettable heavy metal performance of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” in the Upside Down—one of the most iconic moments in the series. Steve Harrington (Joe Keery, Free Guy), Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer, Velvet Buzzsaw), and Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) storm the Creel House, while Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink, Fear Street) makes a devastating sacrifice that changes everything.
