Achoo.
You feel a sneeze coming on, and you want to stop it.
A simple sneeze, especially now during a Pandemic, will stress almost everyone around you. Even worse, full-blown sneezing fit where you can't stop sneezing.
Sneezing is great for our bodies. It is a way to protect us by expelling unhealthy viruses and bacteria. A simple sneeze can travel at over 100 miles an hour and shoot 100,000 germs into the air. But not when you are in a crowd of people while you are wearing a mask. Yuck.
A simple way to stop the sneeze is to eat or drink something with a distinct flavor. Our Vegas nerve runs through the roof of our mouth, and by popping, for example, a strong breath mint into your mouth the moment you feel a sneeze coming on, it will cancel the signal.
I have had great success with salty foods like chips, sour fruit, strong mints, etc. I used to carry a strong cough drop in my pocket just in case I felt a sneeze coming on.
Remember, sneezes are healthy for our bodies and should not be suppressed when it is safe to sneeze.
