On July 18th 1989 Robert John Bardo shot Rebecca Schaeffer on her door step after obsessing and stalking her for 3 years. After sending her letters and showing up to her set of the tv show she was working on didn’t work he became angry. He watched an intimate scene on one of her shows and immediately got jealous. This is when he told his sister in a letter that if he couldn’t have Rebecca than no one could. He tracked down her address using DMV records and murdered her senselessly. On December 23rd 2006 Ryan Waller and his girlfriend Heather Quan were both shot and presumed dead by their attackers Richie Carver and his father Larry Carver. Heather unfortunately died but Ryan however survived this attack and went on to try to tell police what happened. The story does get complicated because Ryan still had 2 bullets in his head while talking with police which made it extremely hard to fully give his story. Today we talk about the mysterious death of an unidentified woman who went by “Jennifer Fairgate or Fergate” which was written on her hotel in-take form. She did check in with a man as well who was written as Lois fairgate. The women wasn’t seen much and was gone for a good chunk of her stay. Housekeeping recalled her room looking barely slept in. When the hotel manager sees that Jennifer had not yet paid for her stay in this luxurious hotel he sends a security guard up to the room. He knocks and a few moments later hears gunshots. When police arrive they find the women alone shot in the head with the gun in her hand. They did this all in the name of Slenderman and were under the impression that if they killed her they would become his “proxies” and get to live in his mansion. In today’s episode we go over how Dennis Rader was caught and his sentencing. He was sentenced to 10 consecutive life sentences a minimum of 175 years since at the time Kansas didn’t have the death penalty.
