Happy Monday y'all!!
Today I sat down and talked about some of the most difficult and emotional energy consuming conversations I have as a family practice provider. Busting myths of how 1200-1600 calorie diets are complete shit to how you really measure complete thyroid function and so much more.
I get into how I gently confront patients who are drinking too much and don't know it and of course there is TONS about womens health in here and how I *gently* bust these myths with my patients.
I truly LOVE my job and am thankful for the patients I get to serve in my community. We all have struggles and its become GLARING to me how much of those struggles are around how well people prioritize themselves and their health. I get to help people do that daily and it's pretty awesome!
Enjoy! (PS friendly reminder no information is meant as medical advice-- informational/educational ONLY. Always seek care for your own medical provider :)

Grace Chamberlin is a 22 year old who is taking life by storm and anyone listening can benefit from her mindset and outlook on life. She is wise WELL beyond her years and I am honored to call her a friend.
She is a future PA, current EMT and we talk about everything from divorce, trauma, family members with cancer, medicine and everything in between.
Grace reached out to me during one of the most difficult times in her life, when life as she had known it had been turned upside down.
Instead of succumbing to struggle, she used her adversities to take time to become a better version of herself and learn to live the the gray space.
She is strong, hysterical and RIDICULOUSLY intelligent. This 22 year old is going to take life by the horns I have no doubt! I am so excited for everyone to listen to her story!
Courtney Thomas is a current nutrition coach with level 10 coaching and certified health coach with a background in nursing.
We sit down and talk about ALL KINDS of health and wellness information. I was drawn to have a conversation with her due to all of the information she was posting on instagram about stress.
We focus a lot on stress in this conversation from what we need to be categorizing as stressors and aren't to how much stress we are piling on ourselves and the toll it is taking.
There are SO many great nuggets in this conversation! For more from Courtney check her out on instagram @courtneythomas_nutrition

Solo episode today. I didn't have anyone lined up so some life updates and a TON more.
The saga of trying to get a JMT permit continues. I also talk about how I do all of the things I do (spoiler alert: my answer isn't fancy).
My actions and decisions are determined by what kind of person I want to be at the end of the day, week, month and eventually my life. I go through some of these values in my life and examples.
How I'm only don't things that scare me (in a good way) and how I am done with limits in my life. Instead of saying "what if" fill those "what if" statements with ALL of the positive things that COULD happen!
Enjoy and please leave a rating if you are digging the podcast :)

Todays episode includes my stories of adversity and what it means to me. My story is unique, but our struggles are universal.
Suffering is inevitable and we have a choice: victim or victor. We may have different starting lines in life, but we are always faced with the choice to lay down and accept defeat or rise above even when everyone around you questions if you can.
I am a life long underdog. Whether it was sports, academics or plain old life in general I learned to love to be underestimated.
I talk about belonging, being ghosted by friends I loved incredibly, family estrangement, being underestimated and how I have no ceiling for my life. Tune in to such a big part of my life story. Thank you Bri for moderating and guiding me sharing my thoughts, feelings and vulnerabilities. You are truly a gem <3
