Frank Wallace is a former Marine Sergeant. He served three tours including Iraq and Afghanistan. While serving in a combat zone he had a vast array of jobs and duties--everything from setting up voting booths to searching for IED's.
He sits down to talk with me today about what it is like being in the military, what TRUE war zones look like, the devastation of what it is like living in a third world country and how fortunate we are in America to have the freedoms we have.
We get into everything from how women are silenced in most countries to lack of running water and what its like getting out of the military.
There is so much goodness packed into this one and I learned so much from talking to Frank!
Thank you again for your service to our country!
I am SO STOKED to sit down for todays episode with the one and only Laura Ligos. She is a registered dietitian who is passionate about cutting through the bullshit of diet culture and educating her clients and followers for fuel their bodies.
Today is a spicy one. You can expect truth and sass about:
- Expectations for postpartum women (and how they're ridiculous) -1200-1600 calorie diets are complete crap -Nutrition is NOT black OR white (live in the gray) -How you can't have a six pack and "have rolls" -Starting a sentence with: "I'm not a nutritionist" shouldn't be followed with "but" and then filled with fear mongering and disordered eating pattern recommendations There is SO MUCH MORE in this episode. Sit back and enjoy our sass! And THANK YOU Laura for your time and pushing me to do MY THING! AND congratulations on your pregnancy!!!!
I have been DYING for this episode to release. Erin is a licensed professional counselor (with MANY other credentials) who sits down with me to discuss what attachment styles are, how they form and how they effect EVERY relationship we have!
Our ability to form-- or even EARN secure attachment through our experiences and relationships can start even before we can talk. Attachment is determined by how our needs our met, how our caregivers/friends/partners engage with us and how we choose to respond to our environment and relationships.
If you are someone who is into the enneagram, personality tests and overall understanding how our complex minds tick you are going to LOVE this one!
Thank you Erin!!! I cannot wait to have you back on!
Deejay Brown is a certified PA, partner, dog mom and a bright light in this world. She is the owner of The PA professional where she offers all types of pre-PA and PA-S services (www.thepaprofessional.com) .
She graduated PA and entered into a profession everyone thought would be pandemic or recession proof (spoiler alert: she isn't alone this is pretty common right now).
Despite many months of no job, she wakes up with a positive attitude and LOOKS for something good to happen in her life.
Sit down, take a listen and take away some of her positive attitude into your everyday life!
PS Please excuse the poor connection and choppiness that comes and goes here-- zoom is TOTALLY over loaded.
Today we welcome back my friend Ashley Broderick. She was back on EP4 when we talked about my nutrition journey.
Today, we are NOT talking nutrition.
We are talking about who is really in your corner in your life. Who are real friends? Why do people walk away? Do people show their true colors more when things are difficult for you or when you are having success?
What does it look like when take unconventional or risky life choices and view your life as limitless?
What does support look like for you?
Are the people in your corner REALLY in your corner? LOTS of self reflection and important questions to ask yourself when you are choosing the circle you surround yourself with.
We are putting out some VULNERABLE stuff on this episode!! TUNE IN!
And as always PLEASE give a rating if you are enjoying the podcast <3
