Student Loans in Default Get Notices | Gmail’s AI Changes Spark Privacy Concerns

Hundreds of demonstrators protested on Thursday outside a federal building in Minneapolis where ICE is headquartered. Once protesters reached the edge of the property, a line of federal agents began to build and within minutes, officers tried to push them back, spraying the ground and then the crowd with pepper balls.

Residents in Portland, Oregon, protested Thursday after officials say two people were shot by Border Patrol agents. Gwen Baumgardner has more on how the shooting unfolded.


President Trump invited Colombian President Gustavo Petro to the White House after previously accusing him of sending cocaine to the U.S. Petro told CBS News he would go to the White House to "stop a world war" following the U.S. operation in Venezuela. Lilia Luciano reports.

The Department of Education is sending out wage garnishment notices this week that could impact millions of student loan borrowers who have defaulted. CBS News business analyst Jill Schlesinger explains who is affected and what to do if you receive a notice.


While covering school shootings, Steve Hartman said he found himself growing numb to the tragedies.
