This week we are doing something a little different. Edward and his sister have spoken at length about the differences in their perceptions and experiences growing up. Over the Course of a few sessions Jason Interviewed both Edward and his sister separately and then together. This is the result of those interviews.

Lead by Jason Edward and Jacinta share their most vivid memories, different experiences with their parents and how they interacted with each other. The three also discuss the differences in demeanor and outlook around their childhood. Jason finishes up with some questions to see how well the two know each other asking questions about favorite foods, desserts, drinks activities and more.

Jason Checks in this week about the stress and additional challenges that have been cropping up at home. Jason's wife Jessica has started being in the middle of the rift between Jason and his son. This has had consequences and has made things at home more tense. Jason and Edward discuss strategies and possible courses of action, but in the end, Edward shares the story of how his father and him were estranged from the time he was 16, until some years later when they repaired their relationship.

This week we continue our Astrological journey through the Zodiac as we explore the mysteries of Scorpio. Scorpio is a sign of extremes and intensity. Though it does not stand at the end or beginning of the Zodiac, it is the ruler of the 12th house, making it the sign of death, birth, and evolution. Scorpios can and will move mountains for those people they deem theirs, but once crossed they can drop those mountains on the spirits of their enemies. As the saying goes there is no such thing as a pastel Scorpio. Join us as we delve into the mysteries of the sign we are swiftly approaching.

In our Check in this week Edward talks about his experience with the Yard Sale. The only issue is he hasn’t gotten rid of the items that didn’t sell. Jason and Edward talk through, not only his experience with the Yard Sale itself, but the sticking points that is keeping Edward holding on to the leftover items. Edward and Jason reference a previous episode when they took a Deep Dive into hoarding, which Edward has stated that he will be listening too again. Finding the balance and the mindset needed to get rid of things that no longer serve a purpose in his life is Edward’s theme for the day.

Inspiration for our Deep Dives can come from anywhere. Jason starts us off this week with a synopsis of a show he really enjoys. In the show a question arises which gives us todays topic. What drives the choices we make? Jason and Edward discuss real life situations where their choices were made either from a place of free will, a particular belief, or through the experience of trauma. Jason and Edward also discuss not only what drives our choices but the accountability in those choices and where they come from.

This week’s Check In is a wild ride starting with Edward’s story about reaffirming some boundaries. Jason and Edward talk about boundary maintenance, especially where Edward’s mother is concerned. One of the ways Edward has been working through his PTSD in areas of his life is through a process with alternative medicines. This leads to a conversation that seems wildly off topic until pieces are put together and Edward and Jason realize that both stem from a juvenile place in Edwards head. The conversation comes full circle with talk about growing up and evolving into the man he is instead of living parts of his life as the little boy he was.

We are pleased to have Kathy Drage back with us to share some insight and stories about animals and healing. Kathy tells us a story about Gretta, a Great Dane, and her owners. Through the story we learn insight about animal behavior and what animals are really hear to teach us.

Jason starts us off this week with a conversation about his last therapy appointment around his abandonment issues. Jason has worked with the same therapist for 5 years and finds himself having a different sort of breakthrough when she gives him permission to tell his oldest about his past trauma. The breakthrough comes in the form of his receptiveness to the advice and realization that he has been able to let her in without him knowing it. Edward shares some insight as to why this might be and the conversation winds through some of Jason’s history of running away from discomfort. This conversation is full of insight and changes in perception as well as a recap and celebration of the growth Jason has achieved.

This week’s Deep Dive is a conversation that stems from a couple of experiences Edward has had over the last few years, as well as some of the work he has been doing with altered consciousness. What starts out as a conversation about how generational trauma is passed on becomes a conversation about how as a culture, we are starting to realize that by talking about our experiences we are ending the stigma around our trauma. This is, as Jason shares his insights as a parent, especially true for the younger generations. Is this the end of generational trauma? No, but our consensus is that it is the beginning of a healing cycle in our culture. Through our conversation and realizations, we find that it is increasingly more difficult to sustain the chains of generational trauma.

This week Edward finds himself dealing with the rudest customer he has ever had while selling on Ebay. What started out as a normal transaction quickly escalated Edward receiving a series of emails that went from bad to worse. Edward tells the story of his harrowing weekend complete with allegations about lying and hyped-up shipping costs. Edward tells us how he succeeded in staying customer service oriented but also the toll it took on him, and the growth that came from it. Jason and Edward then discuss the mental and emotional process around Edwards triggers and how he came to resolution. In the end it all worked out, but the desire to take a last jab at the customer remained, even if it wasn't fulfilled. 

As we enter into Libra season, we take a look at our loveable peacekeepers. Edward relays to us some fun facts, interesting experiences, and a list of famous libras to work through. 

Episode 111 – Interview with Julie Bryan Founder of AJB Joy Tribe

This week Edward starts us out with an update on his keto lifestyle. Edward has been eating Keto for about a month and a half. Upon Returning to his doctor, he got the good news that he had lost 21 pounds, and his blood pressure had significantly dropped. The only problem? Edward misses ice cream. Edward discusses with us his plan for bringing back his favorite dessert into his life. Edward also has a story of a fulfilling weekend out mining with a co-worker and his family including his two little boys.

Our Deep dive this week is an interview with Julie Bryan founder of AJB Joy Tribe. Julie speaks with us about her Joy Tour, how it changed her life, and how it started her on this path. Julie’s message is one of joy and hope. She runs multiple charities as well, bringing joy and hope to others, but her main mission is one of bringing people into the light. We start this week’s episode as Jason checks in with us about some work on abandonment he is feeling. Jason recently went on vacation and during that time some abandonment issues were brought into sharp focus for him, especially regarding his oldest son. Jason shares with us some of what he has been going through and how he has been handling it. Jason and Edward discuss what it is like to be raising a teenager and struggle with abandonment and how this is playing into Jason’s reoccurring nightmare.

In our Deep Dive we delve further into the subject of abandonment issues. Jason and Edward share their personal experiences. They also investigate what childhood traumas cause deep seeded feelings of abandonment and some of the coping skills of living a life in constant fear of being left.

This Week’s Check In finds Jason at the tail end of vacation. Historically Jason has had some questionable luck with jobs when going on vacation and the experience has left him more than a little anxious. Despite the past, Jason worked through some of his former challenges and enjoyed his vacation. Jason discusses with us his anxiety and how he delt with it, spending time with family that came to visit, and spending time with his youngest son. We top it all off with some discussion of a couple of movies Jason recently watched.

This week we speak with our guest Alan. Alan has been living and working with a service dog. As part of our monthly animal segment, we invited Alan to tell his story of how he found his dog, trained her, and what it has been like living with her day to day. Alan speaks with us about some of the challenges and stereotypes he had to deal with at work, and just being out in the community. Alan also gives us an overview of what it takes to be a service animal, as well as the differences between a therapy animal and a service animal.

Edward is starting to recuperate after his ling stint of overtime. With his healthier mindset Edward has decided to start following a Keto lifestyle. Edward shares with us his success in the past with the Atkins diet and has decided to do something similar, by cutting out simple processed carbs, and sugars. Having reached a weight that was uncomfortable for himself he is excited to have lost weight, gain some regularity in his energy, and finding better sleep.

Our Deep Dive this week, explores the responsibility of choices. More specifically the responsibility of putting yourself first with your choices. Edward and Jason have a conversation about choice and how Jason came to be able to put himself first in most things, or at least make informed choices. Edward finds himself ruminating over the idea of putting himself first, especially in his job. Edward discusses his challenges and the trauma that has led him to continually put other’s needs and wants ahead of his own more often than not. Edward discusses his trying to change this part of his life, and Jason supports the conversation with insight into how one can do that.
